Normally I wouldn't start a thread for an offer, but this one brings back memories for EMU hoops fans of the 90s.

EMU has offered Theron Wilson Jr. of Ann Arbor Skyline. He attended the Alabama State game.

He is a WR, DB, and special teams.

Theron Wilson was a star baskeball player on the team which beat Duke in the '96 NCAAs.

Don't know if you can read this Scout.Com write-up:

Here is a copy from the website..

Ann Arbor Skyline has a talented roster of big play makers that includes Purdue commit Jordan Woods, but also another receiver with a lot of potential in Theron Wilson.
A big, 6'2, 195-lb receiver, Wilson has provided numerous big plays on defense, offense, and special teams to help a team that went 0-9 last year start 2-1 this year.

Along the way, the college interest has started, and he picked up a scholarship offer from Eastern Michigan over the summer.

"That's it right now," he explained. "Western Illinois is probably about to offer me sometime soon. They've been talking to my coach."

In addition to those schools, Wilson says, "I talked to Central Michigan and Western Michigan, but my coach and I are trying to put me in position to get more, so we're starting that process."

Wilson took a visit to Eastern Michigan last weekend and saw the Eagles knock off Alabama State.

"They're trying to rebuild," he said. "They got new coaches recently, so it's looking good."

If Wilson continues performing the way he has so far this season, the Eagles may not be alone on his offer list for long. He says his main priority is winning though, and the fast start has propelled him and his teammates.

"It was great," he said of their first win. "We have lots of confidence now."

I hope this is not illegal to do this..
I'm surprised his son is 6'2". Senior is about seven inches taller.

Theron Wilson was a special basketball player. He could dominate a game all by himself and he would do this at the devensive end. He was a shot blocking dynamo. Even when he wasn't in position for a block, players with the ball down low would hesitate to shoot because they knew he was around.

I was there when EMU beat Duke and knocked them out of the NCAA tourney. There's nothing better than beating these snobby schools.

Beating nationally ranked UofM in hoops wasn't bad either. 05-stirthepot

Great that you joined us!!

Hope your son picks EMU.

Hope he doesn't grow too much. How many 6' 7" WRs are there in college FB.

And hasn't EMU changed a LOT and for the better since you left esp. the athletic facilities at Rynearson and the "house that Earl built". 04-cheers

Thanks for the memories. You, Brian, James, Jon, etc. were so fun to watch.
The most important question is if he can catch a fade route in the back of the end-zone...
