Just thinking about what sacrifices the Army players on the field that day have made since playing football.

That's not uncommon. 03-lmfao
I kid, I kid.

Yeah, it's definitely something to keep in mind and heart. What a decade it has been for these guys.
Least gratifying 55-3 beatdown I've ever witnessed.

I remember looking across the field at their sideline and thinking, "Some of those guys might be dead this time next year."
Amen.

Every anniversary of this event, I keep thinking how such an evil, premeditated act by a few sucked us right into where we are now 10 years later. I think of every service member I've anesthetized or treated for pain as a result of this act and the ensuing war.

Most of all, I remember a 38 year old, US Army Special Forces SFC with 90% Body Surface Area burns from an IED blast in a god-forsaken, dust bowl valley, and the last words he heard in this life were mine before he went to sleep for emergency surgery: "I've got you, Brother."

i remember being in the stands with almost zero joy over that win
I was at that game, there was a lot of tension in the stands from some of the fans there. I'll never forget that a few minutes into the 3rd quarter, a commercial passenger airliner flew directly over Legion Field, undoubtedly heading for the local airport, perhaps. I'll never forget it, it was during a timeout on the field, and it seemed like everyone in the stadium, including the players, etc., were fixated on that plane as it passed over, the silence in there was defining, not deafening, defining.

As much as I wanted to enjoy the game and that win, it just wasn't in the air that day, which was supremely melancholy, from my personal recollection. Seemed like a feeling of overwhelming reservation due to the fact that the Blazers were playing Army. Not to mention, it was my birthday that day.
