No need to put the clover on the helmets.
They're throwback helmets circa 1959-62
Both teams are in throwbacks,
Throw them back then.
You might as well relax because it is becoming evident that we are in a period of innovation driven uniforms (including helmets and shoes) as well as playing surfaces . Penn State and Bama and other such "old school" devotees can disregard the trends, but most schools don't have that much "tradition" to rest upon or a desire to do so.

Did you notice that the officials had "throw back" hats as well?

The finale of the game was a grabber for sure. Three TDs in less than 3 minutes. It was like seeing both teams emulating the SMU finale against UAB years ago -- TWICE!!.

I guess Notre Dame and Michigan can only hope to have tradition like your Bama team.
114,000 people, and all of them have a crappier seat than I do to view the game.

Yea Notre Dame and Michigan know nothing about tradition

I would say that those are two of several others who would fit the "tradition-rich, old-school" description.

youre crazy (but i agree with the helmets)
Well, I didn't realize that they were throw back uniforms, but even so you have to question why Michigan and Notre Dame would ever give in to wearing throw back uniforms.

You had 110,000 people at the game without having to worry about any gimmicks.

Notre Dame helmets should not have anything on them - they should be solid period. (Yes, that Rudy movie got to me)

Notre Dame bringing out the green uniforms for special occasions is fine.
Am I the only one that does not give a damn about Michigan and Notre Dame or Memphis Blazer's obsession with BAMANBLAZERFAN?

Beat Tulane!

Merchandising. Adidas will make some coin.
Damn, what a finish.

3 touchdowns and 3 lead changes in about 1:20.

We weren't the only team with no D last night.
I picked the Irish to win, but won't lose sleep over the loss. I can't stand Kelly.
Notre Dame is still looking for the "new Knute Rockne" who will lead them to the "promised land" of BCS dominance. The Irish have not had any of that dominance since the NCAA instituted the 85 scholarship rule for ALL schools and the TV contract people won't agree to them playing the schools that conference member teams can play OOC to pad their records on a PPV basis. Let me know when ND is allowed by the TV folks to schedule UT-Chat., No TX State, GA State, MTSU, West Car., UL-Whatever, AR State, etc. I would love for UAB to be invited to South Bend for a game, but I don't think they are allowed to play outside the BCS unless it is an armed service school team or maybe the MAC.

It sure looked like Michigan ran in the fumble as time expired, too.
