Ole Miss/BYU Game:

That was a SLOW game and I would call the first half boring, if it weren't for the fact that I was going through withdrawals all summer waiting for the Rebs to start playing. It did reveal some issues, and some positives. I think we can come back from the loss, but there are a few things they need to work on.

Offense:

Brunetti should be OUT. Keep Stoudt in. He has the height and we were scoreless until he came in. He's a Jr. with possibly 3 years of play if he stays in a 5th year...which would be advantageous to him for preparing for the next level. I still can't believe we've gone THIS long with all these damn QB problems. I was EXTREMELY opposed to bringing in Masoli, with his one year of eligibility because it did exactly what I thought it would do, piss Nathan Stanley off. We all knew last year was going to be a rebuilding year, however, you don't gamble that **** on 1 grad student from Oregon.

Defense:

I'll probably get some opposition to this but, IMO, the D is BACK. Tyrone Nix should be paid whatever he needs to stay with the Rebs until a better offer, that offer being an HC position, comes open. We should never lose him due to a lateral move. He's a stud when it comes to building a D. True, we gave up 14 points, but let's make the mistake of putting BYU in the same category as a UAB, a Jacksonville State, or a UL-Monroe. Those are some big boys they're building out in Utah.

Upcoming Game:

Keep Stoudt in and seriously run up the score. Seriously, screw Southern Illinois. Sorry, but these guys need a confidence builder. Only negative I can see is that they may become too confident going TO Vandy the next week. If they are, I'll blame that on Nutt for not keeping them grounded in reality. Vandy may not be that good, but they're still an SEC team.
