The reply to Cuban's letter is correct... Texas A&M wants out of the conference with Texas. Texas is not a conference mate. They suck the life from other schools. If the Big XII was a real conference that shared revenue between its members, thet would be working together to better their product. Tommy Tuberville said this his first year at Texas Tech..

Conferences controlling their own content distribution is the future. And the larger oligopoly you can assemble, the more money you can print.

The conference networks are also about exposing the schools and all of their sports, not just football and men's basketball to a wider audience. That's a huge benefit to each school's image and to its recruiting in the Olympic sports.
In the Big Ten and (next year) in the Pac-12, the network benefits all the schools. In the Big 12, it benefits only one school.
