or possibly 15 and 16?

if OU announces their intentions sooner than later, no pun intended, that will put the pressure on the SEC to make their move
1 month.

OU won't be the first to announce. They'll wait until after the official A&M/SEC announcement.

I still think that what OU really wants is that, by increasing the fear of realignment chaos, the SEC will pull back from the brink and not invite A&M.

But if the SEC presses forward, then OU will still wait because the Sooners (and UT) are selling the story that any chaos that comes out of this never would have happened if the Ags had stayed in the B12.
with the pac 16 idea being reborn missouri would be wise to listen to the SEC. they could fit in either the east or the west division.

Mizzou in west

Mizzou
Texas A&M
Arkansas
LSU
Ole Miss
Miss St.
Vanderbilt

Alabama
Auburn
Florida
Tennessee
Georgia
Kentucky
South Carolina
I would guess before June 30th the 14th school will be announced.
1. A&M has to become officially official.

2. OU does whatever it does and takes however many schools with it (presumably the Texas 2 and the OK 2).

3. SEC "waits" to be officially contacted by unofficially contacting the schools it has interest in. I'd say this could drag on until December.

I also wouldn't be surprised if they take #14 and stop. At least for now.

Then the Acc does nothing, the Big 10 does nothing and Big East pick up some Big 12 schools and the rest go to a conference to be named later. Peace returns to happy valley.
exactly.

this is the likely outcome...the SEC is only expanding now because its "diamond in the rough" A&M became available and it was now or never. The SEC is in no hurry to get to #16 and only needs a #14 because of scheduling. The B1G has already said they are going to sit this round out

The way I see things this is the likely outcome now:
Texas, Tech, OU and Ok St will join the PAC
A&M and either WVU or Mizzou will join the SEC. Mizzou seems not to be too fond of the SEC (academics maybe??) so they may not want to join.
Kansas, Kansas St, and Iowa St will join the Big East to get a 12/20 alignment. Mizzou will also join if the SEC takes WVU.

Baylor will likely find a home in CUSA who will need a #14 in the east, which could be a number of schools.
missouri, kansas and kansas state yes to the bigeast. iowa st is debatable, baylor is they want another team in texas makes some sense. maybe all 5 join the bigeast(with wvu leaving to go to sec) forming a 14 team football league. or the bigeast adds all 5 with the current bigeast and add 1 other (villanova, ucf, houston, smu, east carolina) to form 16 team superconference with some of the non football schools gone(nd stays and can select the 3 to join them)
Wasn't there a report that said the SEC is fine with 13?
not even sure about 13

Good point.
it will be 14 or 16 mark it down. They (SEC) may still be looking to steal four from the BIG 12.......OK, OK ST, TAMU, and One other maybe MISSOU or T TECH. That would move Bama and Auburn to the east.

OR they could just add TAMU and WVU and be done with this round. Two new States Two New Markets. I think this is more likely. They really want FSU but that could take time. If they got FSU then they could add another western team to equal the conference.

This alignment would be perfect for the Hawgs.
