How can a non BCS school in an obscure location like Boise, recruit BCS quality athletes, and not only compete with a traditional SEC power in Georgia, but pound them? More power to BSU, but I don't get it.
My understanding is a combination of pouring everything into their program, even to the detriment of their university (still a mediocre regional university in US News) and "lucky" hires.

Parentheses because their old AD (just quit/fired this offseason) nailed every single hire for 20 odd years in football. If Petersen leaves, I wonder if their new AD will have that same skill. Doubtful.

Not gonna lie, either. Georgia sucks. Richt is getting canned and replaced by Alabama's DC next season. He's basically all of the bad from Bowden's last decade at Florida State without the legend.
Sounds like the perfect storm of college football. Georgia may, or may not suck, but I doubt another non BCS program in the country stomps any SEC team like BSU is doing right now to UG, especially on the road. Plus, I'm sure that the Georgia athletes are better than UM's.
