Quote:NORMAN — University of Oklahoma president David Boren said Friday he expects the Sooners' conference affiliation to be decided soon.

“I don't know how long before clarity comes to us,” Boren said. “It might be a matter of 72 hours. It might be a matter of two weeks. I don't think it will be longer.”

Welp, it sounds like they're committed to the XII! Rutgers, please jump at this golden opportunity.
Wow! that speaks volumes about the state of the B12. The BE needs to get in the ears of Kansas and Missouri letting them know they are welcome should they need a home
Boren is dropping some bombs...said ou didn't release statement on a&m because wanted to explore options

More quotes on that twitter from him. Sounds a lot worse than Texas PR machine is painting things.

No doubt. Good point superdeluxe. This could be interesting times for the Pac-12 and Big East. They could be whispering sweet nothings into the ears of Big 12 schools. This comment is telling:

Texas AD DeLoss Dodds supports Big12 still but said of Pac-12 possibility: "You don't ever close any doors

They have already according to a NYTimes report.
Wow. Between Boren's comments and Stoops' comments, either OU is really going to move or they're doing some big-time saber rattling to extract huge concessions from UT and ESPN.
What is sounds like is that OU is trying to divorce Texas.

The speculation has always been where Texas and OU would go to a new conference together. But now it appears that they're heading in opposite directions.

I partially agree. I think they want to go to the Pac-12 and they want Texas to go with them. But the divorce part is the scenario that Texas won't go to the Pac-12. I still think Texas will go to the Pac-12,

Seriously, anyone in a current AQ conference who joins the Big 12 needs their head examined. Is there any doubt that even if it doesn't happen right now, that at some point in the near future, four teams will jump on their escape pod and jettison for the PAC-12?

OU plays at home this weekend, so does UT, and Larry Scott is at Jerryworld for the Oregon-LSU game.
If OU staying in the Big-12 is still an option, this info dump today did them no favors by putting a huge number of doubts into the heads of any potential replacement schools the Big-12 is pursuing.

Exactly. They tried to give a unified front by having the "lesser" Big 12 schools such as Kansas State and Iowa State issue statements. But the only reason those schools issued statements is because they potentially don't have anywhere to go.
