Bob Huggins' fans can show their support for the former UC coach at a "Give Me A Huggs" rally at 7 p.m. today at Bill Cunningham's Willie's Sports Café, 8740 Montgomery Road, Sycamore Township.
Cunningham and his employer, WLW-AM (700), are organizing the rally, said Darryl Parks, operations manager for Clear Channel's four AM stations.
Cunningham and fellow talk host Andy Furman have supported Huggins and criticized UC president Nancy Zimpher on WLW-AM, which broadcasts UC basketball and football games. Parks said he is not worried about upsetting UC officials and risking losing UC rights in the future.
"Our talk shows always reflect what the audience is thinking, and the audience is outraged about Bob Huggins," Parks said.
"At the end of the day, no one is getting hurt financially or physically. Bob (Huggins) is either going to get $2 million or $3 million. I wish I had those problems. It makes a good topic!" Parks said.
