Troy Evans was arrested on armed robbery charges shortly after practice, in which he participated. A Marshall release said he was suspended for a violation of team rules, of which the cause seems obvious.
That drops one of two seniors off the depth chart at the offensive skill positions as the Thundering Herd prepares for its Sunday game at rival West Virginia. That depth chart was released Tuesday by coach Doc Holliday.
The obvious highlight was the installation of true freshman Rakeem Cato as the starting quarterback, a milestone in modern MU football. As expected, he isn't the only youngster in the two-deep.
Eight true freshmen are listed, not counting 2010 nonqualifiers Travon Van and Ra'Shawde Myers. Three on offense are listed either as outright starters or as an "or" starter.
