Hello .. I'm a x NIU Grad and was looking forward to the NIU - Wisconsin game on TV.
I see that it is only on ESPN3 .. which I can not get.
I had planned a party at my home that day with my kids and their families .. perhaps then, after seeing a exciting big time NIU game on TV, they would be interested in going to the NIU homecoming.
Now looks like only excitement will be another Big Ten game .. with perhaps myself sneaking into the bedroom to listen for the NIU score on the radio.
It is sad that NIU missed the opportunity to create new fans by not having it's games on local TV !
Anyway .. I'll be rooting for NIU to win !

NIUDad.. there are plenty of work arounds to get the game on your computer if you want to watch it.

Don't watch it on television---Get to the game! I am originally from Wisconsin, and I got a party of at least 25 with fans from both teams and a South Lot tailgate pass. This game is gonna be sweet!!! Go Huskies!!!

NIUDAD - Huskiefan84 means that there are ways to get around it if your internet provider does not carry ESPN3.com. Do you know anybody with Comcast for their internet? Or ATT? You can perhaps access thru them via the "remote access" feature.
Here is a link to all of the providers that have ESPN3.com ....check with people you know...someone may have one of these providers and be willing to help you out.

Another idea is to check here on the board the afternoon of gameday for other fans who may post another way to see it.
There should be no "talking your family into going" to the homecoming game! Just get them there! Go Huskies!

I will talk to my son .. I know very little about PC's
he has a different internet provider .. and he has been able to get his e-mails from my PC .. can he then pickup ESPN3 on my PC ?
It costs too much to bring 8 people to SF .. homecoming costs would be Ok
2nd ? .. will any restaurants / sports bars in DuPage show the NIU / Wisc ESPN3 game ?
So what channel is ESPN3 on DirecTV? There are so many darn channels. I just wish I could click on a link or something. Oh well, that's life in the MAC.

I still remember attending an NIU basketball game in 1971 with my dad in Chicago Stadium. It seemed expensive at the time but we went and I still have the memory of a great evening.
My wife and I are driving over 700 miles round trip for this game, paying for tickets and paying for a hotel. This is going to be a wonderful and memorable afternoon on the Lakefront. We both work for non-profits and neither of us makes a ton of money but we are both looking forward to a great weekend in Chicago.
If we can make this work NIU students, alums and family members in the CHicago area can make it work too. This is going to be a psecial event in a special place, you really should take advantage of the BOGO offer to students and find a way to attend the game in person. If we cannot fill SF we have no hope for becomming a legit FBS program.

I don't think it is NIU who makes that decsion. The better way for you is to go to the game.
