A quick thought that I haven't quite fleshed out yet...vague stream of consciousness...
Depending on what kind of sub-Death Penalty Miami gets, they could be an effectively dead program for the next 10 years, possibly.
They'll field a team, but with post-season bans and scholorship reductions, their fball and bball programs will be WORTHLESS to the ACC. And a detriment to any of their school's SOS.
Combine that with UNC (who's penalties won't be AS bad, but could be bad)...the ACC is going to have big competitive holes in their line-up.
Assuming they don't lose anyone to the SEC, would it behoove the ACC to try to get to 14 teams to offset any negative effects from this? It would be...unlikely that they'd kick out Miami...but adding two teams to add up the competitive balance...
It would also allow them to renegotiate their contract which, by now, looks pretty bad.
I dunno. Just a few kick thoughts that popped into my head.
