This really sucks. I really enjoyed going there over the years.

so sad....I was just in there a couple of weeks ago. but it sounds like they're just wanting to be done with it & not getting pushed out by the new Loeb development.

I had my first beers there, Lowenbrau. It was fun to sit there and watch all the activity in the Square.

The Square isn't what it once was. Beale has a lot to do with that. For me though is was the closing of Solomon Alfred's. I was never a Friday's guy although I went in there many times to meet people.

Rascals that was on the second floor of yosemite's was a wild place also. G'N'R rocked out up there back in 92.

Going to have to get by there for a plate lunch before they close the doors. That has to be the last standing icon at Overton Square unless I have missed something.

Rascals was rough. When it was the Hot Air Ballon it was a decent place.

I tended bar there for a short stint. That was prior to background checks.

I saw Warrant there in '91 after they did a Mud Island Show. They "announced" on Rock 103 where they were going to continue their party and announced Rascals. Place was wild.

My memory of Yosemite Sam's is of a dive bar I never frequented. Even guys like me have standards. I did all my diving at the World Famous Poplar Lounge.

Poplar Lounge always smelled of sour beer and vomit.
The Steelers band. Now that brings back memories.

Sour Beer and Vomit. Great name for a rock band or duo.

That's the one I'm referring to. I doubt if the newer one is any thing like the original "World Famous" Poplar Lounge.
