The Big East will go after Missouri, Kansas, and Kansas State.
The MWC will go after Texas Tech and Oklahoma State.
C-USA will go after Baylor and a Sun Belt team.
Texas will be forced to go independent, but what will they do with their non revenue sports?
Iowa State is stuck. Maybe the MAC would take them, or even the WAC.

I hate Texas but Texas will be forced to do nothing. If they wanted to keep the Big 12 alive it will be.

Should they expand back to 12 the league will survive for some time.
I don't think Oklahoma is interested in the SEC. B12 will likely survive this and just invite another team to get back to 10.

Yeah but who wants to suck on the Longhorns hind tit? UH might, but I don't think BYU, TCU, SMU or Rice would. Who else is there? Why not just let it die now instead of later?
if Tech and OkSt are still on the table in that scenario I'd hope the Big East would go after them too.

Split from BB (or most of them) and go 16 by adding KU, KSU, Mizzou, Ok St, TTech, ECU/Iowa St, UCF/Baylor.

It depends on how the dollars fall. If OU can make as much money in the Big 12-3 as they can in the SEC+2, they will stay. If not, "hello SEC".

If OU upper campus has done a complete 180, and also somehow able to shake it self of T.Boone Pickens, then yes your idea seems plausible.

As long as UT leads a conference, you are going to get $$$$$$.

All those schools would get a huge upgrade and into a BCS conference.

Your school and the others would absolutely join if asked because of:

1) Money -- The TV dollars alone would probably be enough to cover any athletic department budget deficit you might have.
2) "AQ" status -- Once you're "in", you'll do what Baylor is doing now and argue that you belong to the club and must continue to be included any time changes are made.

You don't understand local politics. Texas is not like a brother. There is bad blood between most other schools and Texas. Not many of them would want to form an aliance with their enemy.

IFFFFF the Big 12 goes bust and Texas goes Independent, CUSA should invite whoever is left as all-sports members and offer themselves as Texas' logical non-football home. The MWC should absolutely do the same, but CUSA already having members in Texas and Oklahoma would make for a more natural fit.

More likely, though, in the event of a Big 12 collapse, the NCAA would grant the Big 12 the same courtesy it did the WAC in terms of automatic bids and such, and Texas, Baylor, and Iowa St/Texas Tech/Okie State/whoever would piece together a new Big 12 out of CUSA and MWC parts. Texas could still go Indy in football if that's what they wanted.

For the umptenth time....The Daily Oklahoman and Tulsa World have reported several times that OU is not going to the SEC. They have quoted the OU Administtration and the OU President has said OU received an invitation to join the SEC and turned it down

Folks OU is NOT going to the SEC

Don't kid yourself. For the additional revenue, your AD would gladly add a condition the Bevo gets to mount your mascot once a game.

Could that be one of the weekly shows on the LHN?
