Me too, but I'm trying to decide if it was a stupid accident or on purpose. Honestly, I'm thinking it was intentional, but I'm not sure.

I see a lot of incompetence on the job! Where were the dogs going? This crap is still going on.

They have a strong union.

The image was discredited not long after the news ran with the story. nothing illegal happened.

You mean the VIDEO that I posted? I didn't post an image. I made up my mind based on the video, not the image. I agree that it was probably not intentional. But so what? It was damned sure incompetent.

Is it just me ? or does it look like the 2 guys aren't really trying hard to break them up ? My heavens...those 2 dogs were not big and heavy...strong ? yes but good grief...they looked like they had no control over them....hitting them with a pole ? why would they not have a spray bottle of water to squirt in their faces to stop them nearby.....dog shelter...many dogs...dogs fight all the time....precautions in place ? surely not the first time 2 dogs have tangled. Just didn't look right to me. I can control/stop a 65 lb male Dobie & a 108 lb. male standard poodle that get into it occasionally all by my freakin self....2 big strong men and 2 relatively small dogs ? give me a break.

What's the status of the cameras?

It's a freaking animal shelter for crying out loud ! You have precautions for fights....I'm sure it wasn't the first fight there.....how hard is it to have gloves ? I'm going to pretend you didn't say that those 2 were going to be put down anyway....no one knows that. They just didn't look like they were really trying hard to separate them...

Were those both pits? I couldn't see either of them long enough to tell for sure, and there was almost always one of the men in the way, but they may have been. If so, and I realize they don't look it, but they are INCREDIBLY strong. If you've never dealt with one you can't really imagine. I'm not sure you can compare them to a dobie or a poodle.

If they were pits (or even just one was), the workers there are idiots for allowing them to be around each other like that. They're very docile around people, not so much other dogs.

I'll admit that I have no clue how strong they are in that situation but I do know that a Dobie and yes, even my KoKo are incredibly strong too and I can separate them fairly easily all by myself....and I'm not a big strong man and I don't have both on leads/leashes. The guy really screwed up majorly when he had both Pits together from the get-go....that was asking for trouble....you would think they would know this.

This is the part that I don't get. To assume it was merely an accident is to assume that the worker did not know better than to try and get two such dogs at once. And maybe he didn't, maybe he's new or something. But if so, that's all the more reason for the cameras to stay.
