i named 6 games they can possibly lose and said they would be 8-4.

i think they will lose

wisconsin
army
toledo (just cause its at toledo)
kansas

thats it.

its just my prediction. Army as the first game can be tough with a new coach and new defense.

Kansas only way i see losing is its an away game! I hope we come out on top.

Best record I can see is 9-3 ... worst 7-5.

just an opinion!
You said 8-5 or 7-5.
i meant 8-4. there is only 12 games in a season!

There's no CMU curse. Coach Joe beat them like 9 or 10 straight times. In the last 10 games, we're 7-3 vs CMU, including 3-2 in Mt Pleasant. All three Ls came when LeFevour was there (07-09). We smoked them last year and we'll do it again this year.
I would love to go 12-0, and this would be one of the years we could, but I would lay $ on 9-3.

GO HUSKIES!
NIU filmmaker who do you have for your 3 losses?
I was hoping to avoid naming the actual 3 losses, you have the obvious Wisconsin game, and B 12 away game... but in general I'm throwing 9-3 out there based on the general laws of nature regarding away games, injuries... and of course the fact that our offense is bad-ass...
the only reason I have them at 8-4 or 7-5 is because of a new coach.

if kill was back in my opinion with this veteran team I think they would of gone 10-2

if you look at good coaches going places they rarely have amazing or good first years.

I hope I am wrong with the 8-4 and they prove me wrong
I am going to go with 11-1 and a close loss to Wisco.

I think you can add 1 to 2 wins with Kill gone as opposed to taking them away. Kill is the worst game manager I have ever seen at any level of football. The moment just gets too big for him I think.

+1 I don't think you'll be seeing the Huskies take a knee midfield to end the half with 1/2 minute still on the clock this year, nor wasted momentum-killing time outs that leave them screwed in the final seconds.

I think that's mostly because either the coach of the team they're going to got fired because they didn't do well - because the team isn't good,

or,

the team was good because it was senior-heavy, and a lot of talent is leaving, and that team's coach knew it was time to get out.

Doeren is coming into a better situation than a new coach normally gets.

Glad to see you're over it after 2 off-seasons to cool off.

Or Meco Brown running between the tackles on 3rd and short.
i do agree that doeren is coming into a better situation. But then again its a whole new offense and defense.

I am excited to see what happens!
I hope Doeren can rebuild our program just like Kill did. 03-wink
For the too serious members - HMM is joking.

I'll go 10-2 with a MACC. Can't predict a bowl outcome until I see an opponent. Loses will be Wisconsin and 1 conference team (I'll say at Central or could more likely be subsituted for a Kansas loss).

One reason I'm confident we'll beat Army is because we have 2+ weeks to prepare for their scheme. Invaluable I'd think. Just that prep will overcome any concerns of looking past Cal Poly.

IMO we will beat Toledo because the only history that plays a role is what these players and coaches were involved in. For most of them that would be NIU out muscling them and having that confidence in the many 1 on 1 match-ups across the field. Expect Tommy Davis to blanket E. Paige all night (assuming this staff shadows Tommy on the best WR as they did last year). Paige will get his touches but will be contained hopefully. I'm more worried about their RB, but we'll win in a shoot out with better QB play. If the West title is on the line there's no chance Harnish allows this team not to be ready to play.
12-0. Book it! 04-rock

8-5 or 7-5.

Defense is young and injuries do occur!

Offense is solid but if anything happens to Harnish the season is over

Games we can lose
Army (triple option, new coach, and new faces on defense)
Wisconsin (depth, and powerhouse big ten opponent)
Kansas (still a big 12 school and away)
Toledo (i hate them but got to admit they have a good returning squad)
Western Michigan (doubt it because its in NIU)
Central Michigan (only reason we can lose is that it is away and we have a curse at Central) LETS BREAK IT

those are the games I feel we can lose.

A darkhorse game is CAL POLY not going to lie NIU should crush them but they have almost taken out big powerhouses!

looks like i was the closest out of all of you so far

NO CURSE! That was the Lefever era that i experienced so i guess Lefever was the curse holder
