For our conference as a whole these are the most important games to win to establish ourselves as better than other conferences. Just thought I'd make a rundown of what conferences we play how many times. I really enjoy watching all MAC OOC games.

Opponents by Conference

11 FCS
11 BigTen
9 Big East
4 Big 12
4 Indy
3 SEC
2 ACC
2 WAC
2 Mountain West
2 Sun Belt
1 CUSA
0 Pac10

That FCS number has got to go down some. They need to be replaced with some 1for1's with CUSA and Sun Belt. This would also slightly lower the amount of BigTen and Big East games
IF you schedule 3AQ teams then you are aloud to throw an FCS in. Otherwise No more FCS. IDC if we lose more games. It will make us better in the long run. The SBC is close to surpassing us and that's sad.

Ball State is at Oklahoma that week, not Oklahoma State.

I don't think any MAC school should be putting 3 AQ's on the schedule. That is just a murderers row.

MAC schools need to be playing more SBC/WAC on a 1 for 1 basis to ensure 6 home games. Unless you are Temple or NIU who can get a major BCS opponent in an NFL stadium.

WMU is getting MI St and Illinois to their place and don't forget UMASS is using Gillette too!

04-jawdrop What! NIU? Toledo has played Purdue, Arizona, Colorado, Kansas, and Iowa state at home in the last 5 years. Plus a neutral site against OSU in Cleveland. Don't tell me NIU can get BCS opponents. We get them to our on campus stadium.

On top of that MiamiU, Navy, Iowa State, and Missouri are on their way to the Glass bowl in the upcoming 5 years.

You're insane Kit-Cat. In 2009 Toledo hosted Colorado in the Glass Bowl, Ohio State in Columbus, and played at Purdue. We likely wouldn't have had two home games that year if we didn't play 3 BCS schools.....and we won the one played at the Glass Bowl.

In 2007 we played 3 BCS schools with two of them at home in the Glass Bowl (Purdue and Iowa State). We beat Iowa State, but the point is that we got two home games against BCS schools.

In 2015 we only have two BCS schools scheduled so far, but they are both at home. I would have no problem with getting a 3rd BCS school on the schedule on the road in 2015.

As for NIU, their AD seems to be more interested right now in playing a game at Wrigley Field. Not sure why he'd want to play there when they can play at Soldier Field.........must be looking at the gimmick side of the idea.
Miami played 5 BCS schools a few years ago, leading to a 6-7 season, even though we won the MACEast.

Once again Kit Kat writes before he does any thinking.

Couldn't you argue that those 5 games got them toughened up and mentally ready to win the MAC East?

Still doesn't matter. It's not for every school, but the ones who do schedule tough usually benefit. Just like this year OU will be 10-2 and so could Toledo or WMU. Who do you think will be ranked higher? Who do you think will have a better shot at winning their bowl game?

Perhaps what kept them out of a bowl was losing the MACC Game and losing 3 games against MAC opponents. 03-wink

FWIW, they did win one of those BCS games.

04-rock
And yet, Miami could lose for another 10 years, and OhioU wouldn't be near the win count, correct?
