Hey troll boy- I guess NIU has a decent football history if you want to include the DIV II games prior to 1973. However, NIU only comes close to UT when you do include all the games against the "little" guys like Missouri State, Drake, etc. I am almost LMFAO that this NIU guy is trying to feel good about NIU's DII football history!!!!!!!!!!! So funny but also kind of sad and pathetic!

There is no comparison between UT and NIU when one only reviews the DI record.

Case closed -UT is far better in wins, bowl appearances and wins, etc. when taking into account real competition at DI. UT's history in football is richer and has been played at a much higher level for a much longer time than NIU.

Nice try but I can see through your efforts. Hey, Mount Union also has an awesome record too and they have been in far more post season games than UT but once again not at the DI level.

You NIU fans are groping for something to feel good about and this was a feeble effort from a feeble mind. Get your facts right before coming to this board otherwise we'll spank your sweaty NIU arse right off the board!

Go Rockets!
Northern Illinois will be among the worst defensive teams in the conference. That's a tough prediction considering the Huskies were 26th nationally in total defense scoring defense and 14th in scoring D, best in the league. But NIU lost six of its top seven tacklers, and is down to two returning starters after Devon Butler (victim of a nonfatal gunshot), Tyrone Clark (personal reasons) and Tracy Wilson (pursuing pro ball) all left the team in the spring. While there is some talent with the players filling in, it's going to be a struggle to come anywhere near last year's numbers

I guess the NCAA is wrong? They run the Data Warehouse. If Toledo is so great why are they ranked lower than a Div 2 school? Go sulk and collect your welfare check you Toledo loser!

Why is NIU ranked higher on the Data Warehouse (NCAA Stat Board) and why does NIU have 76 All Americans and Toledo only have 25?

One last thing, Keep all the Toledo Trolls off of our board!
Kevin's back-side is pretty ugly. The reason I know this is that's all I can see since he's leaving this site with his tail between his legs!!!

Go Rockets!
There were no Championship games or play-offs when NIU split the small school crown with Delaware in 1963 because the UPI and AP polls were divided. To give some idea of the significance of this title, Wittenberg was Co-Champs the next year with Los Angeles State. Go Tigers

Several MAC schools can make the national title claim like NIU they are:
CMU(2)
BGSU
Ohio U
NIU
Akron(runner-up)
Ball State(top 4)

Because they were in D2/1AA.
I looked something else up.

For 2000-2009, Dayton was ranked 84th; Toledo was 103; NIU 110. Does that mean Dayton was better than UT and NIU?!? HELL NO!!! Dayton doesn't give out scholarships - they are a glorified D3 team, they are 1AA by name only just so that they can be D1 in basketball.

Nice try. Better luck next time.

Seems like an easy way to settle this would be to compare head-to-head records. Hey, Kev-maybe you could look it up in your warehouse book or whatever-but be careful....its REALLLLLLY ugly.

Which I guess explains this strange obsession some of these NIU folk seem to have with Toledo.

Seriously, 1899?

Karl told me back then it was NISNS-Northern Illinois State Normal School. I guess NIU is not Normal anymore.
Awww, look a the little puppy... He wants to be our rival. Isn't he cute?
