BUDDY: He is the face of neglect. This sweet gentle Labradoodle has spent the entire 10 YEARS of his life chained up by his neck, alone, scared and miserably abused in an isolated dirt patch in his backyard. Cheatham County Animal Control was finally notified by a neighbor and they were able to confiscate him on animal cruelty. His owner was charged with Neglect, the maximum fine $50. :( (Welcome to TN)
Day 1: 6/30/2011 Comment from Director of Animal Control Karen Luedtke Moore Josephson, "He has Double eye and ear infections, mats so huge they are pulling his skin off, fleas, ticks, filthy, thin and beaten down...", "he's really depressed and weak", "This is what NEGLECT looks like folks...He was simply THRILLED to have me scratch his head and pet him..." "His fur is matted to the skin on 90% of his body. He is crawling with ticks & fleas. He's so worn out and depressed. His hearing is very poor. He looked at the food in front of him then back at us as if to say, "really, is this all for me?"
Day 9: Vetted, groomed and showered with love for an entire week! Buddy looks and feels so much better already! This sweet old guy may not have a whole lot of life left in him (per the vet) BUT we are going to make sure that every single day of the rest of his life is nothing but amazing!!! Buddy gets the honorable privilege of being the VERY FIRST INTAKE DOG at the brand new Dogs Deserve Better "GOOD NEWZ REHAB CENTER" for previously chained/penned dogs. DDB recently purchased Michael Vicks former property in VA, where he ran his Bad Newz Pitt Bull Kennel and illegally fought his dogs. DDB has turned the property into their GOOD NEWZ REHAB CENTER! Nashville DDB is not only happy to see Buddy go to such an amazing wonderful place to live out his life, but very proud that one of our dogs is the 1st to make its way to our new rehab center! This Chip-In is to raise the funds needed for Buddy's medical care. He is HW positive and will need continued vetting for multiple infections that he is fighting. We are also arranging transportation for him from TN to VA. We can't thank you enough for your donation to Buddy! Every little bit helps. You are helping to ensure that Buddy cherishes every single day he has left! After 10 years of abuse and neglect, he deserves this!!!!
