I hope for their sake the prosecutors don't hold elected positions. I don't blame the jury. They weren't convinced. It really is a simple as that. The state didn't get it done.

What is worse? Being killed in an abortion or starving to death after all forms of welfare are gone?
I'm not arguing about whether or not abortion should be legal (my wife is pregnant with our 3rd kid as it is, so I'm obviously not going to have an abortion in my house), I'm just saying that the super conservatives want to cut out all welfare and abortion, thus having a lot more kids being born into familys that either cannot afford them or will not take care of them. At that point what do you think happens to them? I can assure you it won't be a high success rate.

I have not kept up with the details of this case, and I really don't know what to make of the verdict.
But as to the "dumb bunch of Floridians"... I think as the general state of education in this country slips further and further to a level of sub-mediocrity, "dumb" verdicts will become more and more common. People who read at the level of TV-Guide, and whose primary moral/spiritual influences include Oprah, Dr. Phil, etc., are not going to be able to follow a chain-of-thought for more than 2 links, if that. Such people are not -- at least, I think they are not -- yet an outright majority of the population in this country. But on current trends, they will be before too long...

Nothing wrong with people taking an interest in an actual court case involving an actual murder, as well learning a bit about the justice system in general. If people are disinterested, no one's forcing them to watch. They are free to take in another brilliant episode of the Voice, the Bachelorette or Jersey Shore instead if they'd like.

I always thought it was funny that 1,000 people can die in one day, but we focus in on one death as being special.

Who cares? I do, life is a gift and of value. The two year old Caylee Anthony's life was viciously snuffed out. Justice calls out for an answer and she did not get it.
Casey Anthony got away with murder she joins the OJ Hall of Shame.
