Who is better?

I know Dobbs had a history of bait and switch especially with the agreed to price while haggling and the price they put on the paperwork.

Anybody deal with these guys lately?
I dealt with both recently, but ended up buying a different make. However, I prefer Dobbs.
Dobbs service department is absolute crap. I wouldn't take a tonka truck to them. I bought from Dobbs like all sales lots you have to watch them like a hawk and assume they are ripping you off. Buying new the ball is in your court if you don't like it go to another lot I think there are 3 honda dealerships in Memphis. I'm not thrilled with Hondas right now. We have an 2006 Odyssey and it's had more electrical trouble than any other care I've had. My last Accord had a crack it the transmission at about 70,000 miles and other electrical problems. they fixed it but I had to haggle with them that it was a recall issue. My 2002 Chevy truck has only had an intake gasket leak and got it fixed and no problem and it's on 98k miles. I'm going Chevrolet or Ford from now on. F^&k Honda.
My 2009 cobalt has had two recalls in the last year. First the power steering went out and then the ignition switch locked up. I left my vehicle at all star in olive branch and the first time they put an extra 50 miles on it for me and this past time an extra 70. I guess they test drive them real good after they work on them.
I prefer Dobbs. I know nothing about the dealerships, but that parody they did of "Who Let the Dogs Out" was pretty awesome!
When looking for a car I went to Dobbs first. The salesman didn't even show me the time of day. At the time I was only 22 years old so I figured it was a age issue. I actually had to go ask a salesman to assist me....and there was probably 5 just standing at the front....WHERE I PARKED MY CAR WHEN I PULLED UP. I test drove one car and the guy wasn't friendly the whole time I did it. Needless to say, they didn't get my business.

Went to Wolfchase Honda and had a great experience. However, my initial salesman missed the sale because while driving back to get the keys to a car we were going to drive he was hit by a car in the parking lot...he was in a golf cart. Had to go to the hospital. I can't remember his name but the guy that sold me my car was a former U of M football player.

Fixed it for ya'.

now THAT would suck.
Anyone have any preferences on Nissan dealerships? I'm interested in a Rogue or a Murano, and although it's probably going to be a used one, I want to see what kind of deals are out there on a new one.

Haha, yeah. We were in the back of the lot looking at a car and wanted to test it. He got in the cart to go get the keys and was gone forever. My mom and I just looked at cars and thought "where in the world is the salesman?" Well, we heard siren's but didn't think anything of it cause it is in a city and all. They pulled in the lot and we started making our way toward the building. We got there and saw our salesman sitting in the golf cart smashed by a car. He was bloody a bit. Apologizing and all....we definitely told him it was no big deal. A car was leaving the service area and didn't see him. He wasn't hurt too bad...back at work the next day actually.

The good that came from it is that we found a different car and test drove it instead. It had 1.3 miles on it when we test drove it and I've put every other mile on it since.
We bought our CRV from Wolfchase back in 2007 and had a pretty good experience with them. I feel like we had a pretty good deal, and the car's been great.
I bought a used honda in '01 from Dobbs, overall a good experience but I sold it 3 or 4 years ago and never took it there for service.

The car I'm in now, I researched extensively and had great experience/price as a result of that research.

I recommend the following:

My civic is from wolfchase and I can't stand the place. Never had a good experience with their service department so I don't even use them anymore.

There is a service writer there names Spencer and he is an idiot. I've had pretty good luck with them. Dobbs was absolutely terrible in service.

My only service problem was my radio would flicker in and out. I took it to Wolfchase 3 times and they never could duplicate it. I had asked several times just for a new radio but never got anywhere with it. Well...one day I got my oil changed and the next day I received a courtesy call. The lady asked how everything was going and I told her good, except....and then told her about my radio. I said that I was certain it wouldn't be a big hassle to at the very least change it out and give a new console unit a try and I didn't understand why they wouldn't consider that option.....the following week I had a new radio in my car. It has worked well since.

That's the worst thing about getting your car worked on anywhere is duplicating the problem. Sometimes you are lucky sometimes you aren't if it was flickering out it sounds like a bad ground. I had that on an aftermarket one I had installed at Circuit City. Sometimes I would start it up and it just wouldn't work then a few days later I would start it up and it worked. I never drove that far back then so it wasn't worth the time to tear apart the dash and fix the problem.
True Story,

Before we bought our CRV, my wife was driving a 98 Accord. It was a great car for us and gave us very little trouble, but we eventually started hearing a strange noise when we turned left. This persisted for about 2 weeks until we decided to take it in to Dobbs Honda for service. The guys looked the car over and told me they could find nothing wrong. However, they did suggest I get about $500.00 worth of routine maintenance (which I agreed to since the car was getting a little older and had about 140K miles). After I turned left out of the dealership the car was making the same sound. We waited another week or so and decided to take the car back up to the dealership. Again, they could find nothing wrong. Eventually, I decided to take the car to a private mechanic who works on my cars from time to time. The mechanic (Larry and Art's near Lamar and Southern) drove the car with me in it for literally 90 seconds and told me that my hub bearing needed to be replaced. We got back to the shop and the mechanic (Larry) wants to test the other mechanic’s (Art) knowledge so he asks him to drive the car around the block to see what he thinks. He comes back in under 3 minutes and gives me the same diagnosis without ever discussing it with the first mechanic. They told me what part to buy from AutoZone and fixed the problem the next day (only charging me for the labor, about $125). Car drove perfectly for the rest of the time we had it. That one experience made me realize how worthless dealership service stations are and how valuable a knowledgeable, honest, and experienced mechanic is. In my opinion dealerships are only good for doing overpriced oil changes.
Wolfchase changes my oil for $21.95...well worth it imo. Sure I can buy a filter and oil and change it myself for $15, $16....but it is completely worth another $6 or so to have someone lift my car and do it for me.
