There should be a good market for game programs in '12/'13. 03-idea

I did see the chemical engineering major. 04-bow

EMU hoops recruiting has become fun again. 04-cheers

Murphy is making his mark and EMU has become a 'transfer destination' as phrased by ESPN a week or two ago.
Thanks Clyde, here's his Wyoming signing press release apparently out of high school he was offered by Butler and Air Force:

Seems like another exciting transfer. My only question is to ask if anyone has bothered to tell Daylen that EMU does not offer Chemical Engineering as a major? Maybe he will dual major at EMU in Engineering Physics and Chemistry?

I thought of that.

Maybe he plans to do graduate studies to get his engineering degree.

There is UofM and Wayne State in S.E. Michigan plus N.E. Ohio probably has some, including Akron.
Let's see if I have this correct?

Riley - C,
Bryant - PF (skinny PF, but a PF),
Harrison - SF,
Harper - PG
Yes Steve your listing is correct. And while I'm happy and excited about the transfers but I also point out that the difference between a two years left transfer and JUCO is what? Most of these guys had very low scoring and rebounding averages with their former teams. They may be better than what we have currently but are they MAC competitive? Yes I know some were top 150 players but top 150 listing is a paper award, what they've done on the court is where it counts.

I hope that we are now done with transfers and use any remaining scholarships for high school kids. The program will be built on high school talent not transfers.

My hunch is that Riley gets three years but not immediate eligibility. I hope my hunch is wrong because next year looks brutal.

Now we need someone to organize a pick up open gym game between the 'newcomers' (call them skins) and the 'veterans' (call them shirts).

Three of the four newcomers played in big conferences, e.g., Big East, SEC or MWC.

I don't know that there any more scholarships to give for '11.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Murphy go for h.s. next year. Did Dennis say he'll have 4 scholarships next year???

Murphy might go for 5 wins next year but a dozen or more the following year. 03-shhhh
LOOK AT THE ROSTER, WE WILL BE LOSING 4 PLAYERS AFTER THIS SEASON: GREEN, DAILEY, JANTZEN AND LAMPLEY. HAVE ALSO HEARD RUMOURS THAT STEWART WILL NOT BE RETURNING.

Dennis, are you factoring Frazier into things anywhere?

NO - I WAS TOLD ALONG TIME AGO THAT HE WASEN'T COMING BACK. NOT SURE HE WAS ON FULL SCHOLARSHIP ANYWAYS. I BELIEVE WITH THE 4 TRANSFERS, MINUS STEWART (HEARD HE MIGHT NOT BE BACK) WE ARE AT THE MAX WITH 13 ALLOTTED SCHOLARSHIPS.

That means we can look forward to the '12 recruiting class. The '11 class is baked.
For the 2012-2013 assuming all the current roster players return to finish their eligibility (Thompson, Harris, Balkema, Stewart, Sims, Burton, Harper and then adding the three transfers makes 10 total. I was at 4 and now I can see there is room for 3 high school scholies for a total of 13.

RE: our new transfer.

Even though it is too late, there were two very good transfers from WYO who transferred to OKLA and I think So. Illinois.

One was from Warren, Ohio, named Jackson, and I believe he averaged 14 ppg as a soph. He's going to the Illinois school.

I can see 3 transfers (i.e., Riley, Bryant, and Harrison) plus 3 h.s. kids all suiting up in November '12.

Half of the team will be Murphy's kids and we'll be eagerly awaiting that.

That team will have the seniors-to-be '79 mentions, plus the redshirt junior transfers carrying the load plus any ready to play frosh.

E.g., the front court could be Riley, Bryant, Harris, Balkema, and Harrison. Not too bad. Lot of talent and experience.
re: Frazier, i believe he is/was a preferred walk-on, so i don't believe he counts against the scholarship cap. as always, please correct me if i'm mistaken on this.
