Not the end of the world or anything of that ilk, but beginning of summer classes.

Guess that means our athletes can come on board, start classes, start unofficial workouts, etc. etc.

It will be good to see who shows up early. E.g., Riley? Bryant? Harper? a bunch of new football recruits? etc. etc.

It seems that EMU has a nice schedule: do fall and winter semesters, take spring off and come back for summer to begin unofficial workouts/ training for the falls sports (read that football).
Hope the hoopsters get together and play in open gyms at the convo. Would be interesting to watch , especially the new recruits and possibly potential recruits.
Tomorrow is the day. Lot of our athletes will descend on EMU and the Convo and classrooms.

If anyone has good stories or rumors, please post them here.

And I think Riley, Bryant, Harper and a couple potential recruits (or whatever) should play a shirts vs. skins game with the holdovers in open gym.

I'm glad that the newcomers will be on board tomorrow.

It might have to be at the REC they are putting a new floor and redoing the lower section seating in the Convo (hate that name).

I so hope they also put in LCD screens in the scoreboard. The current situation is a mess! That by far seems to be the biggest upgrade needed in the convo. 03-hissyfit

How/what are they "redoing" with the seats in the lower section?
New roster posted including Freshman and Juco players

only 88 names listed. Does that seem low?

I looked and didn't see any obvious omissions.

Anyone see anything?

#7 "Pudge" Cotton? I hope this is Sean Cotton using a nickname!
Wearing #82 I'm guessing there aren't any plans to play Tyler Allen at RB.
When I see this roster I see speed, size, skill and people playing their natural positions. Haven't seen that here in a while.
No surprised with Tyler's number.

I believe English always saw him as a WR.
Why would they double up on # 1 to # 2 with incoming freshman?

Kyle DeMaster's isn't listed. He can no longer play because of his neck injury. Does his scholarship count against the 85?

DeMaster's injury must have factored into English's desire to add multiple TEs.
I didn't know DeMaster was hurt.
I feel bad for any student athlete who that happens to.
My guess his scholarship does count...
I believe Marvin Skipper's has been counting for the last few years in Basketball... May be apples and oranges though
O/T but the Tigers are in first place in the AL Central. :)
It looks like there is roster stability. One new player is WR David Gibson from Solon Ohio. Anyone know any background on him?

Excellent observation.

Matter of fact with the exception of the injury, DeMaster, it is looking like English is bring back pretty damn near 100% of those who are eligible to come back, including two med. redshirts.

I don't believe there were any coaching changes this off season.

That has to suggest that this program is becoming very stable. 04-cheers

All vibes out of EMU football have been positive, as far as I can tell. 03-cloud9
My eyes are getting old but I didn't see Kris Strange DB or Chris Dunlap DB on this roster.

i'm not 100%, but i don't think Skipper has counted against our scholarship limit. i think there's an exception that allows you to follow through on the promise of a scholarship without it counting against your limit when the injury is career-ending. again, i'm not 100%, but i believe this to be the case.

Good catch. I'm not sure what it means.

I assume football recruits can move in early August without being enrolled for Summer term.
Another departure would be Jerome Cox another DB.
