Very rarely do people lionize a person to the extent that every single idea ever penned by the person in question is taken as gospel. Thomas Jefferson wrote many great treatises on liberty and freedom. He also applauded the French Revolution and thought that it was a good thing to see the royals butchered in the streets - the birth pangs of liberty if I remember his words correctly. He also believed that sovereign gov'ts should be overthrown after every generation in order to purge the corrupting influences of established governments. Should we throw out all of Jefferson's contributions to our country because of these 2 ideas that he held? Of course not, because as humans who are free, we are supposed to use critical thinking to determine what makes sense and what does not. No, this is not a testament to the ideas that absolutes do not exist. What I'm saying is that in the absolutely true concept that freedom and liberty is man's inalienable rights, there will be differences of opinion on what that means. You must use reasoning skills to determine what is worthwhile and what is garbage.

She must of hated dentists too. You could pick an apple through a picket fence with those chompers.

Yes...and not troll with fallacious arguments. Objectivism and Conservatism may include some of the same ideals...but that does not make them the same thing.

Great find if you are comparing it to the dastardly concept that conservative radio show hosts advertise products to make money...Ayn Rand's atheism is common knowledge. Christians who flock to Rand's messages are - again - using their critical reasoning and giving credit to her thought on economics and gov't. It doesn't mean that they agree with her thought 100% at all time. It's called critical thinking - weighing ideas and reasoning through what makes sense and what does not.

No one follows Ayn Rand for Social Issues, silly libs. You see anyone on here quoting how she felt about abortion, religion, God, etc.? Didn't think so.

TOGC, humans are capable of miraculous breakthroughs of genius. They are not, however, perfect. Ayn Rand is an example of both of these human qualities.

I like how who put all conservatives in a box. Those who are smart enough and are educated enough to get through her rambling writing style to understand her genius also understand that she was an atheist. We also understand that one shouldn't be judged by one part of their character but by their entire experience.
