Ohio's Akise Teague runs through the Pennsylvania defense for the team's first touchdown during the first half of the Big 33 Classic on Saturday.

HERSHEY, Pa. – Akise Teague was tagged as Mr. Ohio Football, and Saturday night a team of Pennsylvania high school all-stars found out why in the 54th version of the Big 33 Classic.

Teague rushed for a pair of first-quarter touchdowns to get a squad of top Ohio prep prospects rolling on the way to a convincing 50-14 win over Pennsylvania at Hersheypark Stadium.

A University of Cincinnati recruit from Youngstown, Teague also caught a 40-yard touchdown pass to open the third quarter that made it 35-7. He finished with 168 total yards on 10 touches and was the MVP for Ohio.

The 50 points scored by Ohio was the most scored against Pennsylvania in the Big 33 series. Ohio extended its winning streak in the series to three.

Pennsylvania struggled offensively, needing nearly 18 minutes to register a first down. Pennsylvania totaled minus-8 yards rushing and 253 total yards, while Ohio rolled up 432 total yards.

Behind Teague’s two early rushing TDs covering 52 and 20 yards, Ohio broke out to a 14-0 lead. Pennsylvania sliced the deficit in half on Sean Barowski’s 5-yard plunge midway through the second quarter.

But two plays later Ohio restored its two-touchdown lead when a couple of Ohio State recruits, quarterback Cardale Jones and wide receiver Devin Smith, hooked up for a 54-yard scoring strike.

Ohio pushed its cushion to 21 points at halftime when another Buckeyes recruit, Doran Grant, returned an interception of Pennsylvania quarterback Jalen Fitzpatrick for a Big 33 record 101 yards.

Receiver Quinton Sullivan led Pennsylvania with 118 yards and a 22-yard touchdown on six catches.

That's nice to see. He will have a good guy to learn from in Isaiah Pead.
He definitely was one of the recruits I was most intrigued by last year. Looking forward to seeing him on the field but I wonder if he may redshirt with Pead, D. Williams, and Poteat. I'd like to see either Teague or Poteat redshirted.

Poteat was rated much higher than Teague but by all accounts doesn´t have the speed and quickness that Teague has. With the RB talent that we are bringing in Poteat will have his work cut out for him.

Teague won't redshirt this year, or at least he shouldn't. From what I have seen he is going to be the best return man on the team the moment he steps on campus. and given how bad UC's special teams were last year post Gilyard any and all help in a return capacity should be welcome, even if it means burning a red shirt for teague.
Based on the one game I saw Teague is better than Poteat. But PA's OL was garbage and OH's DL busted everything up last night. From everything I saw, Teague is going to be a special, special player. I'm going to bet on him being a 3 year player at UC.
Poteat and Teague are two completely different backs. I don't see them directly butting heads for playing time.

There will be enough carries for both of them behind Pead.
Teague is going to be an impact player as a freshman. Would not shock me at all if he was the #2 back behind Pead. Check out the highlights from this link: http://www.easternparecruits.com/home/20...ighlights/ . Akise has some serious moves in the open field.
The 2nd TD (the 20-yarder) was easily the most impressive 04-jawdrop

Oh god... he shook the hell out of #8 Josh Page on his 2nd touchdown run around the 2:25 mark.
Yeah Joey... he broke a tackle, reversed direction, and made two miss (also #22).

Watching Josh Page(Clairton Bears) getting shook like that impressed me. I've watched Josh play a ton of games and 99/100 times he makes that tackle.
Aside from Teague, that was one heck of a convoy on Grant's pick-six. Pretty impressive that an all-star team can be that much in synch.

Yea, that was a perfectly thrown fade to the DB for the touchdown. Grant scored 2 TD's on that play. 03-lmfao

His moves remind me of Greg Pruitt for those of you old enough to remember.
Teague will not redshirt. He will probably be the kick returner this year and will probably touch the ball a lot on offense. He'll line up a lot in the backfield and probably in the slot so they can get the ball in his hands in different ways. I bet he gets 10-12 touches per game this year.

The guy is an elite talent. There is a reason Nebraska, Penn State and Wisconsin all offered him down the stretch last year. The reason he wasn't rated high last year is Scout (which baffles me considering how much they overextend themselves into Ohio) and Rivals totally missed on the guy and didn't bother evaluating him late in the process, but you dont get offers like he did if you aren't a big-time talent.

Was Teague officially offered by Nebraska/Penn State? I thought he was just drawing interest from them but they never pulled the trigger on an offer.

Both of them did offer in the last few weeks. I know his profile was never updated by Rivals or Scout showing those offers, but I remember reading specific articles from the Penn State sites that they offered him as well as reading comments on various sites about Nebraska offering him.
Here is the link to the article about the Penn State offer. They also mention Nebraska who I remember specifically reading offered him later that same week.
