Hello Rick here..
and I have this:

The first major land battle of the Civil War.
It made the war real to people. With the deaths of troops and civilians, the reality of the war was brought home.
Indication that this would be a long and bloody war that would require new leader and improved leadership training to prepare the federal troops for sustained action in the field.

Can anyone please think of anything else. Thanks
