...turn on Versus where they are holding the collegiate Rugby 7s championships. Very cool sport to begin with, but you can get an idea what the park looks like and its expandability.
Empty. Not good. But I'm sure this crowd would beat anything Villanova football could muster.
How is the building being empty for Rugby bad for Nova football? And for as many potshots that expansion candidates take at Nova attendance they're doing ok in the FCS in attendance. How that translates to Division I we'll see but they're averaging about 9000 per game in a market that is supposedly dead college football wise.

They average 9,000 in a 11,000 seat stdium that is substandard anywhere outside Washington D.C.
We sold out our allotment!
Aren't you 2 years removed from averaging just over 15,000 per game talking about Temple? That's proof that it's possible to improve attendance.

2008: 15,582--->2009: 17,379 (+1,797)--->2010: 20,515 (+3,135 22nd largest increase in FBS). With Penn State coming in, we'll be over 30K this year.

Temple, East Carolina, and Houston need serious looks by the Big East. You add key markets, and if Temple somehow beats Penn State, there's a signature win on the ol' resume!
Is Nova still working on this?

Ding!

Especially if Nova ever hosted another home football playoff game:

Villanova 2009 Home Football Playoff Attendance:
1st Round: 4,319
Quarter Finals: 2,661
Semi-Finals: 4,171

3 Playoff Game Home Average Attendance for Nova: 3,717

Also, in 2010, these schools attracted more fans per game than Villanova: one D3 school, 10 D2 schools, and 49 other Div I-AA schools.
Heck, Louisville has high school teams with better attendance than Villanova football! It just kills me thinking that schools like Buffalo, Temple and UMass cannot drawn fans. So much for the potential of yankee football.

The 59 St. Xavier-Trinity football games have drawn nearly 1.3 million fans. Top drawing games:

Attendance
2004 37,500
1998 37,252
2001 36,500
2003 35,800

04-cheers
LOL. No matter how many Temple and UCF fans trash Nova's attendance as a 1AA, it will have no bearing on the league's decision.
So here is a hint it doesnt matter how many posts or threads you post on here, none of us wil make that decision
Well, I do not think Temple or UCF is getting into the Big East.

Certaintly not by posting on threads about Nova's attendance. 03-lmfao
PPL is to small for a major college BCS program to play. Until Nova gets its act together they should not be admitted to BE.
Plus I question the interest level of the Philadelphia market on nova football. Even if nova had a 60,000 seat stadium would it matter.
My guess is that unless nova plays Penn St or Notre Dame at home the attendence would struggle.

Disagree...because of Nova's joke attendance...they settled/tried to reach an agreement with a 18,500 seat soccer stadium.

If Nova had a LOT MORE football attendance than that...odds are...they would have found other options to host their football games (heck, if they had 30,000-40,000 plus football fans willing to buy season tix, they would have had their own $$$$ to build their own stadium, somewhat close to their campus (next town over), BUT, because Nova has so few football fans...Nova football had no money...and realized that with soooo little fans...a 18,000 seat stadium would probably be plenty big for them.

Sorry to prove you wrong...but it was way too easy.

LOL. Sorry to pop your bubble, but you didnt prove me wrong. My point was that it DOES NOT matter how many POSTS or THREADS are started on THESE BOARDS by UCF or other fans will DECIDE what the BIG EAST will do regarding Nova football.

Maybe reading comprehension is not something taught at UCF. So next time read carefullly before you start congratulating yourself on proving anyone wrong. 03-nutkick

Difference is Temple is the largest college in Philly- more than twice the enrollment of Nova.

Nothing NOva provides the BE can't be provided better by Temple -if we are thinking of beign in Philly. Nova's FB attendance was following a championship year. They draw below the league average in BB as well. Nova is just small, small-minded and small-thinking, as evidenced by the decisions they made on a stadium.
In the end, Nova will arrange a 5k addition to PPL and will be #10. The BE will stay at 10 for at least on TV go round.
