Yesterday (Fri) was Mom's and Dad's 60th anniversary. Daddy never would have remembered it at this point due to his memory slipping, but Tweaky took him to Fort Smith to take care of things. They visited UAFS, where he taught for 25 years, and he got to see some of his old cohorts there, which he really enjoyed. Then they went to a jewelry store and he picked out a pearl necklace for Mom. They got a bouquet of pink roses to give her. We took them to a restaurant here in Booneville last night. After we had ordered, Daddy gave Mama the necklace. She was totally surprised and thrilled. It was a very nice moment.

I remember the days when Daddy could not have afforded one small pearl, let alone a necklace.
Sounds like a great evening!
Wonderful occasion. Hopefully many more.
