He took back his request to get out of loi, and is headed to Orlando. Stinks for uofl thought he wouldnt start but I think he would have been used in other ways n could have really pushed the other qbs on the team to be better.

Well he did not have much of a choice unless he wanted to sit out for a year as UCF would not give him a release from him LOI. Bad deal for him though unless he moves to another position as he will have to sit behind Godfrey for 3 seasons.

Link please.
Not really since we got Bridgewater already. Plus like I said almost from the start I didn't want him @ Louisville if he indeed is going to UCF or anywhere else.
Somebody notify Forde and Thamel quick! We need another article to smear UCF!

Seems that you predicted he WOULD end up at UL in several of your past posts...and almost seemed giddy in that Smith would not end up at UCF but would end up at ULincluding some of these in just one thread:

I don't think any1 clean in this...look he going to be @ Louisville more then likely regardless of him winning his appeal or not. I will say this, if some of you knew what goes on in college athletics many would not be college fans @ all...it is what it is.

By summer it will be all over, I predict DS will enroll @ Louisville, he will lose his appeal and will have 4 years to play 3.

He will not be a UCF Knight and one way or another will be very very likely enrolled as a student @ Louisville.

That is there right, he not going to play one down @ UCF. More then likely he will have 3 years to play 4 @ Louisville.

He not going to UCF, hell he might not end up @ Louisville. And the more I think about it the matter is pretty much closed.

-----------

Personally, I have no clue what he will do...and until he actually enrolls somewhere (Tues, May 31st was the last day to enroll/register at Univ of Louisville Summer II Semester and the 10 week summer semester), nothing really matters.
April fools day is April 1st, Not June 1st.
They won't let him out of his LOU so he figured why nor. UCF just better hope he doesnt become a cancer since he is more or less forced to stay.

But virtually every UL fan said he would easily win his appeal with the NCAA?

No clue what he will end up doing...but I've never seen an entire city "bash/trash" a kid that didn't sign with the home town team like Louisville did with DaMarcus Smith (when he initially signed with UCF).

Also, if you go back I always said I didn't want him to come here as well. Either way this situation stinks all around...also, if you remember I was the 1st to tell you guys he had sign a LOI with UCF but I knew something was "wrong".

If he goes to UCF fine, but I would not shed a tear if he doesn't go to Louisville.

D. Smith's Mom says allegations against UCF are false and disgusting.
Small price to pay to keep UofL from supporting UCF joining The Big East. Good Luck D. Smith

Are you against UCF joining even if it comes out that all of this was garbage made up by forde and thamel? Just curious. Right now, it looks like UCF is clean, that could change, but so far, nothing has come out against the school, just bad reporting by forde and thamel.

Personnally I just like East Carolina better, I see ECU as a new market with better fan support then Central Florida.

Plus East Carolina has a history with Pittsburgh, West Virginia, South Florida, Cincinnati, Louisville and TCU.

I have been against UCF joining The Big East for years. Their addition to the conference would hurt recruiting at USF, WVU, RU, UC and UofL. If UCF would have accepted the football only back when the offer was on the table after The ACC expansion, I would be saying the same thing about USF.

We only need one program in Florida. The idea that The Big East needs a strong USF / UCF rivalry in the Sunshine State to benefit the conference is UCF propaganda. I don't see our friends at USF pushing this. Everyone thought the FSU / Miami rivalry in The ACC would take the schools and conference to a new level. If anything both have been mediocre at best since the Canes switched to The ACC.

I myself have always favored Memphis for basketball and ECU for football. If we need 2 those are my choices. If we need a third I would look at Houston. Any expansion that involves UCF to The Big East would be a mistake and would lead to the weakening of The Big East.

I can understand that point of view and I'm glad this incidence isn't the reason, particularly if the allegations are untrue. That said, two things I'd like to point out. First, UCF is already recruiting against those schools and will end up taking recruits regardless. D. Smith is one example. And secondly, two schools gives the Big East much more exposure. Right now, the Big East gets little if any exposure in FL. Think of it this way....is Rutgers stronger because it has regional conference mate or would it be stronger if it was on an island in the northeast all alone? Imagine Syracuse in a league with all southern schools? They're not gonna get as much northeast attention without regional conference mates. Same applies in FL with USF/UCF. It's the concept of force multiplier. I think the Big East really can't go wrong with any of UCF, ECU, Houston, or even Memphis. UCF will be fine regardless of where it is at. Either it'll go the TCU bcs-buster route or it'll get a Big East invite. It's hard to keep such a giant florida school in the best location down.
