Sorry if this has been listed before, but what board do the UMassites hang out on (especially for football)?

So I can go over there and troll. 03-wink
NIU007, This main message board UMass Message Board. Mike started the board way back, but now he has family and career obligations so he if you want to register, it will take a while.

I go hot and cold saving links and have an Oracle Apex Application that has some filters. If you scroll way down under Massachusetts and there is a 14-JUL-1998 link, click on 'Wicked Pissah' and there is an early reference to the board way back when it was on his AOL account.

Thanks for the link. Interested to read the UMass perspective on their team and MAC football.
Yep, thanks for the link. Will be interesting having another team in the MAC. Though I suppose NIU won't play UMass much in football with so many teams and not many crossover games.
Hi. I run the UMass Football Blog. It's been in operation for the past six years. I usually post daily.

Here's hoping for success for both UMass and MAC football in the future.04-cheers
The blog is excellent, especially for daily information.
The Boston Globe has reported in the below quote and so far UMass fans, who have commented have all be in favor say it's fair. We are a new FBS team would have to earn one for one status.
Future OOC FBS teams

Quote:With the University of Massachusetts moving to the FBS level, DeFilippo has offered it two-for-one deals over a six-year period, meaning the Eagles would host UMass four times and play twice on the road (which would be at Gillette Stadium).

“We’ve offered UMass what we’ve given every MAC school — a two-for-one deal. I think it’s fair,’’ he said.

UMass-BC is not Florida State-Miami or even South Carolina-Clemson, but it would be a start, especially since DeFilippo steadfastly refuses to put Connecticut back into the loop.

In basketball, BC will play UMass, Providence, Holy Cross, and Harvard on a regular basis in nonconference competition.

BC offers same deal as other MAC teams 2 for 1
The UMass vs. ODU game day page has a flash video, which is nice with an old 8mm look and lots of MAC references, we're one, the splash, the Gillette announcement, the MAC helmet, but the color is off with the 8mm look.

Contains 1:26 video prominently displays move to the MAC

The intro page to the main UMass Athletic site has an intro page for Football, which is really nice, has the same embedded video and of course near the bottom proudly displays the UMass Helmet, UMass Together We're One FBS Football Mid American Conference, and the MAC Helmet. Worth a click, check it out.
Reading the UMASS board is interesting. I hear a lot of similar arguements many MAC fans have had over scheduling. Are 2:1 deals worthwhile? Is a 1:done payday game better? Neutral site games, why can't we get other teams into our place etc...
Guess i will have to check out our new conferences mates at the UMass vs. ODU game. ODU is just a short drive from me.
Posters on UMassHoops are 96% in favor of scheduling a MAC team regarding a home game on November 11 or 12.

Is this a match or will MAC Conference scheduling complicate Miami-Ohio’s request for a home and home.

Miami-Ohio perfer starting home - Nov 11 or 12

UMass generous guarantee game on Nov 11 or 12
What I find interesting are the teams your fans want to play. I am sad only one fan thought Kent State was a quality team worth playing (I could joke about your fans being afraid of course). It seems like your fans are really high on Miami.

Miami plays home and home every year with Dayton and Xavier and over the years we are just slightly below .500 vs both. UD and X are two of the top A10 programs, and the fact that we beat them quite often gets us some respect up there that other MAC schools might not get. We have also split 4 games with Temple over the last 12 years, so that gets noticed too.

The above is very true, but you are starting to sound like Dayton fans. Dayton was the 8th place team in the A10.
Dayton is good, but finished 8th in the A10
Now how fitting is that the UMass Alumni Associations to have a Red Sox gathering at Fenway against no other team, but the Cleveland Indians. UMass Alumni Association at Fenway. Red Sox and Indians

True, but not a complete evaluation as UD also made it to the A10 championship game if my memory is correct.
