I am thinking the same thing. The rise of Nebraska with the fall of Ohio State. If the Cornhuskers can put together their offense, they could be looking at the BCS championship game.

Nebraska has to beat MSU, PSU, OSU, Wiscy and Iowa this year, I'm not sure of all the games but PSU and Wiscy are on the road. I don't think I'd reserve a hotel room at the NCG site just yet.

This article just got published. Read the whole thing. My God. No wonder he resigned if he knew this was coming out.

OSU is f*cked.

Agreed. Penn State and Wisconsin student sections are remarkable enough. I don't think Nebraska can manage playing in such an intimidating environment. Me? I revel in it, loved watching their antics and singing, wow, Wisconsin's singing! 04-clap2

Just read the SI article.

Eye candy. With your daily recommended vitamins in it, too!
Ohio State will buy out Bobby Petrino's contact from Arkansas, or at least try and I think Urban Myer would be sweet for Penn St.
Urban isn't going anywhere. He had the best job in college football and walked away.

The buy out for Petrino's contract is 18 million for the next 3 seasons. Then it goes to 14. Also, He is making 3.5 million per. with bonuses its closer to 4.5.
I'm not really sure why everybody thinks it's a slam dunk that Ohio State's going to go out and try to make a splash hire. That hasn't been their MO in the past. They hired Tressel from the I-AA ranks at Youngstown State. Before that, they hired John Cooper after a stellar 7-4-1 season at Arizona State, and before that they hired Earle Bruce, who had a whopping 36-32 record at Iowa State before going to Columbus.

USFFan
Can we move this to the OSU board since this has nothing to do with conference realignment?
What is going on at OSU is even worse than at USC. For one they still have not been able to prove that Pete knew about the issues at USC but there is a lot of proof that Tressel knew about what was happening at OSU.

I was going to leave it up till later today. Its a hot topic in all of sports and yes you are correct.

Players, while hurting the program, were not the resign why Tressel resigned (i.e. was fired).

Tressel was fired because of his OWN ACTIONS (i.e. covering-up NCAA violations, playing ineligible players for an entire season, LYING to the NCAA investigators, etc...).

Tressel brought himself down.

Thank you Coach Tressel for 10 excellent years.

Blind leading the blind.

Remember, denial ain't just a river in Egypt.

Might want to read up a bit on the REAL Head Coach Tressel:

Agree...can't see their AD surviving this and maybe even the Univ President (he got Tressel fired...and will probably do the same to the AD...and pretend "he didn't know anything that was going on and how he "trusted" those 2 individuals to "do the right thing"...but because it happened under his/President's watch...and his comments about "hoping Tressel didn't fire HIM", that alone should disqualify himself from ever being the head of another University again.
I think that Tyrone Willingham is available. He is a Big Ten guy who played at Michigan State.

That "Molder of Men" is just what Ohio State needs to clean up this mess........
I'm pretty sure you can get a good deal on sweater-vests in central Ohio right about now...
