I'm not surprised. I imagine the reaction here in Nashville will be relief....

Titans cornerback Pacman Jones has been suspended without pay for the 2007 season by the National Football League.

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chris Henry, another player who has had multiple run-ins with the law, has been suspended for the first eight games of the 2007 season.

The suspensions were for
The Bengals' Chris Henry got 8 games.
I just can't understand how someone is given a world of opportunity and all they have to do is not screw up. It's pretty damn simple, don't screw up, in other words, don't lend your car to drug runners and don't start shootings at strip clubs (or anywhere for that matter).

Really, how hard is it?
I'm glad this has been handed down, even though 'Pacman' hasn't been actually convicted of anything. If morons like him and Chris Henry are too stupid to avoid getting locked up, then there's no real need to wait for any trial.

I say merely being arrested should cost them.
As much money as these guys make, you'd think it would occur to them that nothing good is going to be happening at strip clubs after midnight. Play out your career, keep your nose clean, and then go into party overdrive.

Of course, young guys with way too much money and free time on their hands don't think that way.

Pacman is a classic case of the million (multi million actually) dollar talent with a ten cent brain.

That's why you gotta love a guy like Tiki Barber. Brains, an education, and options.
Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.

Notice both these guys played at West Virginia. Wonder if they're turning into the Miami of the 80s.

I think the straw that broke the camel's back was that Pacman got arrested and violated league policy/team policy by not reporting that he was indeed arrested.
I was just reading the Tennessean stories about Pacman. He's had 10 -- count 'em, TEN -- run ins with the law since he was drafted in 2005. He's had five touchdowns. That's two encounters with police for each touchdown scored.

What a great record to have. And what a waste of human life he is.
