I don't understand this at all!

Is it a boy or girl?
The word for it is "abuse."

This idea got popular in the '60s, was pushed then and into the '70s (including That Girl, Marlo Thomas) and finally fizzled when people recognized that kids are hardwired to their sex. Further evidence has come w/ MRI and other tools that reinforce what has been known from millennia worth of collective human observation.

My word the parents are retarded. I saw this article the other day but was hoping it was a hoax.

So their kid won't be put in either the girl or boy big box (which includes gays, transgenders, ..., ...) but they will be put in the 'undetermined' box which is no less a box, just a vastly more restrictive one.

But Lib's are great at ignoring evidence, especially when it comes to sexuality:

Step right up folks and ignore the fact that through history some societies have been almost exclusively bi-sexual (Sparta) nope don't look over there because you might ask if that could be so then how is sexual preference completely fixed at birth? and shucks, thats such a mean question to ask..
So they don't want anything influencing their child's personal gender decision, and they don't want anyone asking them about their child's gender, and they damn well don't care that people don't like it, soooooo.....

They take it to the Today Show and the media?

People?
That's why Toronto sucks.
Words fail.

It's not the same thing, but it does remind me of another case from the late 1960s -- also from Canada, as it happens -- where a baby boy (aged 8 months) had his equipment accidentally burned off in a botched circumcision. Under the influence of a mad scientist (unfortunately, this mad scientist had the academic credentials needed to "pass" as a legit researcher: Ph.D. from Harvard; on faculty at Johns Hopkins), the parents tried to raise their boy as a girl. By the age of 13 or 14, the mental trauma was so obvious that the family gave up on the gruesome "experiment" and went back to letting their son "be a boy." But of course, by then any hopes for a normal life had long since been destroyed. Both the boy and his father later committed suicide in separate incidents; the boy happened to have a twin brother who died of a drug overdose. Just a horrible, horrible tragedy all-around.

What does SOAF have to do with this. 05-stirthepot
I guess some people will never see that gender is something that is beyond your control, no matter how you're treated. Eventually the baby is going to start to bear traits of a girl or a boy, then all of the parent's time will be wasted because it will be treated as one or the other.

Plus the kid is going to figure out what "it" is and then tell all of "its" friends.
They got this backwards. They should have begun with the parents. And made their genitalia ambiguous.

Before they ever used them.
