What do you think the ETSU administration will do now that the A-Sun has gone off the deep end with the loss of Belmont? More important question, what must ETSU supporters do to get their attention ANSI off their rear ends and out of their tiny little mindsets to address the ETSU athletic mess and start a serious project to fix this mess?
not sure there is much they can do for the time being. exactly what are the options: ovc - no, big south - likely no. caa - no, cusa - no, sec - no, acc- no, wac- no . . . . best thing they can do is be as good as they can be in everything. dont worry about the conference and go out and kick butt. a-sun was a one bid league that did not have particular success in the ncaa tournament with belmont. how about etsu step up and win the tourney and then go into the ncaa tournament and win a game or so.

Join the Great West, a conference with real vision.

Our move out of the conference is inevitable, but not necessarily imminent. A Florida school (or no school) being brought in to replace Belmont accelerates our timetable for departure. A school in Georgia, Tennessee, or the Carolinas means we'll likely stay a few extra years to see if another arrangement opens up. If the Big South were to initiate contact, though, I think that could be a very good move for ETSU. Not sure if they're looking to get to twelve full members at the moment, though...
Given the past record of how things have gone, I think they sit and twiddle their thumbs. :grumpy:
It is just a hunch but I really do feel they are going to make some moves here. Surely even they can see the situation and read it as not in the best interest of the future of ETSU. ETSU back in the business of playing football has a nice ring to it. Let us hope.
Dave Mullins will be on the Morning Monster this Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. They practically beg for calls every time he is on. Let's not miss this opportunity to put him on the spot and ask what if anything he is doing regarding this situation. Call early, call often: (423) 477-1064.
Let me speculate.

"The ASUN is a great fit for our university. We always keep our eyes open for better opportunities that could arise, but at this time we are happy where we are."
If I call the Morning Monster to ask a question Dave will never go on the show again so it's best that I not.

Oh come on Nut, dont let that stop you. Actually that might be a good thing.04-cheers
I'm in Atlanta, what is the Morning Monster? I have the number, will they take calls outside the listening area?
I hope that everyone asks direct questions about football, conferences and what they are going to do in the near term. This is no time to let them get by with evasive answers.

The Morning Monster is the local sports radio talk program. You can listen online at http://www.640wxsm.com/.

They take calls from out-of-towners frequently. Their toll free number is 866-333-WXSM (9976)
Can someone post here the contact info to e-mail or text the Morning Monster for those of us at work and cannot call. Thanks.

Hey, I just saw the video on Tricities.com and this is exactly what Dave said. I'm good.

Yeah you nailed it before Davy Baby did. I was thinking of your post when I watched the news last night.
So after listening to Mullins' first 5 minutes this morning it is clear that the A-Sun is the Titanic and ETSU plans to be playing the violin on deck right up to the point where it sinks.

No vision, no plan, no reaction. We're just going to do nothing.

Please keep up posted on everything he said. Let us hope they keep the questions up.
I'll try to post a quick summary. Really though all he is saying is that ETSU is always looking at different things and that they have ongoing meetings to look at things, etc. Lot's of talking in circles without really saying much. He did take a pot shot at ETSU fans saying that our emotional connections to other conferences and teams keeps us from seeing the objective reality that the A-Sun is much better.
