Stumbled upon this website that shows the regional fan bases. We have a bigger following than I thought we'd have and probably the biggest in the MAC. Check it out.

Why is Toledo in Missouri?

EMU is in Montana
SMU is in North Dakota
Northwestern is in Wyoming
...etc, etc

Cool idea but unless this was done by ESPN, NCAA or some other reputable body (insert joke here) then I don't think it is possible for this to be accurate at all. Also this info would be to valuable to just post for the general public to see. Who ever could compile a halfway decent map like this would be smart to keep it private to make a nice payday off of it.
The survey has been ongoing collecting data for a few years now. They use a mapping program which gives 'weight' to numbers. So when some large fanbases vote in large numbers, they 'push' ones with fewer votes to outlying points. Only UB, NIU, and Ball St have maintained significant "spots" between neighboring team markets on the map over time. Since Syracuse football has very little popularity west of Rochester and the Big10/BE aren't very popular either, UB has a nice market area (~1.5 Mil people) where it's the #1 college FB entity.

Well, Michigan didn't want Toledo. Maybe Ohio got tired of having to carry the dead weight that is Toledo and Missouri said they would take them?
Where is northwestern lol

How do you get the people from inside the map-blob to show up on the inside of your stadium?
great thing about such stats is this.

place one foot of a man in boiling water and his other foot on a block of ice and his body temperature may be measured 98.6 - a completely useless stat to describe his condition.
Using the nifty diameter tool at 100 miles I clicked on Chicago and got this:
Illinois 320
Northwestern 149
Notre Dame 140
Michigan 81
Northern Illinois 74
Wisconsin 58
Iowa 45
Ohio St. 43
Purdue 34
Michigan St. 32
Indiana 24

Thank God you are alive Cybes! I thought you passed away. You didn't respond to my PM and haven't posted here in a while.

The same way you guys did after some poor seasons in the 90's; Start stringing together some winning seasons. Only 1 winning FBS season, the MACC, and a bowl, just isn't enough.

Cybes has been heard from lately, haven't you Cybes? I am much more concerned right now about MD. He hasn't been on for a couple months at least. I hope he is ok. And Sterling1man. I hope he's ok too. It's been a very long time since Sterling has posted.

I saw a cybes post from 2-3 days ago; don't know if he's posted since, but he's been around recently. MD, IIRC, quit the board.
Vermont has an FBS school (Navy) and maybe two (BC - might be in NY), but NH and ME are still FBS-less.
