I would be very concerned right now. A job like UK opening up, with Tubby moving over to Minnesota, would conjure Squidbilly's name in any circumstance. But after what Memphis has had to deal with in lack of respect because of their membership in CUSA, deserved or not, and Squidy's comments lately...well, one can see some faint marking begin to appear on the walls of the Memphis athletic department (looks like writing)...

Calipari is not going to Kentucky and Kentucky does not want him.
Kentucky's first call will be to billy donovan, and after he turns them down and gets a big raise from Florida, Kentucky will call and hire the coach Memphis is facing in the Sweet 16 -- Billy Gillespie.
So you don't think Marquette's Crean is in the mix like many are speculating?
it's all just speculation.

Calipari's agent probably will throw his name out to get more money from Memphis. But he is not the kind of coach Kentucky will want.

Crean, maybe.

Gillespie will get the job, IMO. He is a TIRELESS workaholic, can coach like a madman and is single-minded in his basketball focus. Just what UK will need.

Outside shot at best...
Calipari has a past with the NCAA infractions committee from his time at UMass, Ky wants nothing to do with that or Cal. Crean is a possibility because Ky will not be able to get Izzo away from MSU. A dark horse will be former Ky player Travis Ford, who is now at UMass. Yes, I love the irony.
The only job Memphis fans fear they may lose Calipari to is Kansas if Bill Self moves on.

Cal was an assistant at Kansas under Larry Brown and is said to want to coach there.

I do not believe Cal will go anywhere this year, but nothing about him would surprise me. As for his NCAA history, officially he doesn't have any, according to Memphis fans. The NCAA cleared him in the UMass mess, but of course, what is official and what is reality are two different things. But since when has someone's dirty laundry kept them from getting a job as long as they win (see Kelvin Sampson or Neil Calloway for that matter)

I am still hearing Gillespie to Arkansas up here in Memphis.
Maybe someone should take it upon himself to get a copy of Calipari's contract. It would be interesting to see if he has an exception or two for a buyout, such as Kansas or somewhere else.

They really don't have copies of his contract at the information booth at the University of Memphis.

It's a state school. It has to be part of the public record.
Calipari signed extension with Memphis today.
