Surprised nobody made a thread about this over the weekend. Did anybody go? I went on Friday, and the Flaming Lips were fantastic. Best show I've ever seen at Music Fest (remember, they headlined Bonnaroo last year).

All three days. I spent most of the time in the Blues Tent. Devon Allman brought the house (tent) down with his guitar playing. Magic Slim and his band was amazing. Tommy Castro delivered his big electric blues sound like he did the last time he was at Music Fest. Reba Russell and band represented Memphis well.
Once again, the weather, mud and sirens were kind of a distraction on Sunday. But all in all, a very good festival.
I was extremely impressed this year by the courtesy and manners and goodwill of everyone, almost to a person. Rowdiness (mud slinging and drunken zombies) was a lot less this year, from what I could see. We had a wonderful time talking to folks from England, Wisconsin, and Calico Rock, Ark. We have something very special here that people travel long distances to be a part of.
