Quote:Providence coach Ed Cooley has granted the release of Texas guard Kyan Anderson from the letter-of-intent he signed with the Friars last fall. Cooley released Keno Davis' other fall signee, Ohio forward Markus Crider, earlier this week.

"They sent the release over today," said Tommy Brakel, Anderson's coach at North Crowley High in Fort Worth, Tex. "I think it's one of those deals where everyone wants to make sure the kid makes the right decision. This opens the door for other schools to recruit him, as well as Providence."

Brakel says he hasn't asked Cooley directly if the Friars will continue to recruit Anderson, a 5-10 point guard who averaged 14 points and 6 assists as a senior. He did say that he expects other "very good programs" to jump into Anderson's recruitment at this late date in the game.

Kyan Anderson is a guy that recieved an offer from the UofH but went elsewhere. With the loss of Haywood, Dickey goes after Anderson?
