Right now both the Football and Mens basketball shows are held at Hooters in Boca Raton.

We have seen the Hooters girls at Basketball and now Baseball games at FAU. It would appear there is a pretty good realtionship between the two right now.

I think this would be a natural fit, but of course we all know that the Boca Socialites would probably pitch a fit. However that would also generate a LOT of publicty (both good and bad) for the stadium and FAU.

Do you all think that having the Hooters brand and name on the stadium would be a good thing for FAU and the 'Belt?
The unofficial hooters cheerleaders are a nice perk too!

Hooters FAU and Free Public Penicillin Clinic Stadium. Get a free ticket for every shot! Think of the marketing possibilities!

No, it's WKU. As a side note, this was an April Fool's thread last year. I had to check the date of the article to make sure it wasn't an article from 12 days ago!

Yes it was, I remember that.

Now though there is a relationship between FAU and Hooters with the Coachs shows, the girls showing up at games. One has to wonder. Certainly seems prophetic to say the least.

As Ted stated, FAU is pushing the fact that the name will be highly visable from 1-95 and there are literally millions of drviers that will go by it every week.

I still think a finanical instituion would want that, especially in Boca Raton, but the industry still is recuperating from the crash in 09 and it would be a hard sell to shell out 20 million for a bank right now to its shareholders.
I like it. You could do some good promotions.

If FAU is trying to raise money, maybe they can use this idea from HOWARD SCHNELLENBERGER'S TOP 25: SPRING EDITION :
Quote:...7. FAU's Spring Fundraiser, the Owls For Bowels Pay Toilet Campaign. Lock all the bathrooom doors on campus for a day and charge admission. Not approved yet.....

Honestly I've known a few hooters girls over the years and most of them were actually sort of prudish.
Troy has Hooters sidelines banners in its stadium.

The FAU stadium is really noticeable from I-95. It's going to look cool with the lights on as the sun sets.
The city of Troy denied Hooters from building one of their restaurants in Troy. So they built a Ruby Tuesdays instead... 03-banghead

Don't get me wrong I love Ruby Tuesdays, but there's one in almost every city. Troy hasn't come to terms with the fact that it is a college town. Of course they'll take the revenue the students, fans, and visitors bring to the city, but they won't embrace the change and growth that comes with having a university in your backyard.

My first trip to Troy, a basketball doubleheader in (I believe)2007, we tried like five restaurants before the game trying to find somewhere to get a quick meal and a few beers. The first four either didn't serve alcohol or were closed for business, ultimately we resigned ourselves to Ruby Tuesdays and as we pulled up they were closing for the day because they were having problems with their kitchen equipment.

We did end up finally finding a barbecue place over near(IIRC) a Wal-Mart, the cue was actually pretty good and they had beer wish we had found that place to begin with.

It's very hard for restaurants to get licenses to serve alcohol in Troy. That's one of the main reasons why we don't have very many places to choose from. They've built a few places since your last visit here in 07. Hopefully before the 2012 season (with Navy and Miss State at home) they'll build a few more restaurants and hotels.

Oh and sorry for thread-jacking...

That would be hooks. Great barbeque.

I've been once since then, but I'd really rather not talk about it, here's a hint, it wasn't for basketball...03-banghead
