Sports Illustrated is already running out their 2011-2012 pre-season rankings... I was a bit surprised to see us in here at all let alone coming in at #16

1. UNC
2. Ohio St.
3. Duke
4. Syracuse
5. Kentucky
6. Kansas
7. Florida
8. Butler
9. Pitt
10. Wisconsin
11. Louisville
12. Cincy
13. Michigan
14. Arizona
15. UConn
16. Belmont: The Bruins could’ve been a Cinderella in this year’s tournament had they not received such a tough four-seed draw in Wisconsin. They were the most efficient mid-major in the nation in ’10-11 and return all but two players from their deep rotation, including junior big men Scott Saunders and Mick Hedgepeth. A second straight 30-win season could be in the works.
17. Vandy
18. Wichita St.
19. Marquette
20. UCLA
21. Memphis
22. Temple
23. FSU
24. Texas
25. Purdue
26. Mizzou
27. Gonzaga
28. George Mason
29. TAMU
30. Xavier
31. Alabama
32. West Virginia

That is frankly shocking to me. We'll obviously be really good again next year, but to have us at 16.....we won't likely be able to shoot the ball as well with Campbell gone. 30 wins? I sure hope the schedule is more challenging which would likely lower our win total. We should be unanimous pre-season favorites in the A-Sun, but still.

I'm not complaining though. 03-wink

I completely agree - hopefully Byrds challenge to the BCS conferences to play us in Nashville will bring someone in. As for being the favorites next year, DLU loses everything and ETSU loses a lot... we will be in good shape!
