Thought he might be the guy UAF would hire. Then I thought Mizzou, when they opened up. Mizzou thinks they can get Matt Painter from Purdue. Not sure if that's delusional or not. He's a Purdue grad, but Mizzou showed they had deep pockets in trying to keep Anderson.

Folks on Mizzou board think Painter is a done deal. Of course, those same folks said Anderson wasn't leaving. Painter would certainly be a top notch hire for Mizzou if it happens. The fact that Cuonzo signed a deal with Tennessee, rather than waiting to see what Mizzou was going to do, makes me think that he may have known something.

Actually, I may have had this backwards. Martin was an assistant under Painter at Purdue. He would likely be Purdue's top choice if Painter left. He would know if Painter was going to leave. He likely wouldn't taken the Tennessee job, which is facing NCAA sanctions, if he knew Purdue was about to open up. Not sure why I really care, but following these coaching searches is kind of entertaining.
It is fascinating. I believe I saw where the Dayton coach is moving to Georgia Tech. The merry go round continues.
