... if you are merely suspected to be or claimed to be a terrorist.

Thanks Obama.
Wow, wonder what got into him. This is a slippery slope too, very dangerous.

Thanks Obama.
As opposed to Bush who threw them in Gitmo, tortured them(not personally) and threw away the key with no miranda rights?
Wasn't one of barrys carrots closing Gitmo. Hows that working out?
What a very liberal thing for him to do.

Thanks Obama.
Member: Bush strips rights, operates Gitmo and interrogates detainees.
Robbie: Bush is Satan.

Why should we be surprised? Barry is simply taking the tools that Shrub left him and continuing to tend the garden. This is how power is grabbed and the government expands incrementally.

Yep.

You neocons who were all over me about opposing the patRIOT act, this is why.
F da gubment
No authority in the US -- federal, state, or local -- should be obliged to give "Miranda warnings" to non-US-citizens. Especially non-US-citizens who are apprehended outside of US territory.

Obama made the right call on this one.

For the record, Fo is the Arachno-Capitalist, not a neo-con.

Except that we're talking about US Citizens here.

All they have to do is say you're a suspected terrorist.

The Military Commissions Act also applied to US citizens who were simply claimed to of been "enemy combatants"
I've been busy at work and haven't watched the news too much, so what are we talking about here? Any links?

Understood. I think he and I are in the same side here. It's others that my comments were meant for.
In our history, suspending rights during times of war and crisis is not only a neo-con position. At least the Patriot Act included a sunset time limit. And was authorized by Congress. Obama does not include a sunset time limit. And is not seeking Congress' advice and consent.
Nobody is saying that it is ONLY a neo-con position. But it was the neo-cons who pushed the patRIOT act. And this is nothing more than a logical progression down that slippery slope.
So what you are saying is Obama is embracing the Bush Polices and taking them one neo-con step further. I think I get it now.
