I don't recall this being what his argument was at all. Those stooges went in a big circle ripping the fact that UAB and VCU were in the tournament. If they were talking about 2 teams that deserved to be in, there would've been no reason to mention UAB or VCU. I guess he didn't go back and watch how he acted that Sunday night.

If he's trying to sell that BS, then the last thing he needs is for someone to listen "intently" to what he said. The worst thing about him is how seriously he takes himself, how condescending he is about any different opinions, and the fact that he will never, ever admit he might have been even 1% wrong. He also said at one point that the Big East was "the best conference in history." I haven't heard any admissions about that ridiculous notion either. The good news is that Charles, Kenny and Greg have been subtlely ripping him so hard he probably can't tell the difference between his mouth and his ass anymore.

I'll buy that VCU's run doesn't make him wrong, if he's willing to concede that UAB's run (such as it was) doesn't make him right.

Bilas isnt a tool, he is the stuff that you wipe off the rubber glove after using it to check for hemmorhoids.

I'm not saying I agree with him that UAB or VCU didn't deserve to be in, but if he honestly believes that, then what he's saying is absolutely right. The fact that they've done well does not prove they deserved to be in. Tournament teams are judged by their merits on the season PRIOR to the tournament. Just as UAB's horrible performance does not mean we didn't deserve to be in, VCU exceeding expectations doesn't mean they deserve to be in.

Again - before some homer bashes me, I'm NOT saying that I agree with his original point. I DO think that UAB deserved to be in. If you compare the two head to head, I think UAB deserved to be in moreso than VCU. However, for some reason, we got all of the flack.

I have one question: Whatever happened to logic? Obviously, Bile-a$$ doesn't believe in it publically.

He ended every segment on selection night with this: "The tournament is idiot-proof." Now, he follows VCU's current run with "It doesn't make my argument wrong." That's not very compelling just because you state it as fact.

Yes there's a reason and it's his reported salary of around $1,000,000 a year with ESPN. Would you rather be a lawyer or talk about sports for a mil?
