Losing our top three scorers, plus their leadership, will be difficult to replace. I look for D'Andre to score more next year, along with Chucky.
If our bigs can give us scoring, we'll be good to go.
We definitely need to get a SG who can contribute right away. Hopefully Bernard Thompson is that guy. Dang look at me! I'm pushing this guy like some people pushed Matt! 04-cheers
You are definitely right, Doc. We will have to replace some scoring, but I am not overly concerned about it. D'Andre will score more. We know that he can when he needs to. Chucky can score more, and we have seen what he can do on occasion. Marlo ended the season shooting over 50%, so if his minutes go up, it stands to reason he will score more. Gus may not be a scoring machine, but I think he easily will score more than he did this year, by a good bit. Assuming Courtney gets healthy, he can score some. Tramar will score some more. A lot of players who can score don't score because that isn't their role.

What concerns me is the "crunch time" scorer. We'll get points, but will we have a go to guy?
Your guards are normally your "go to" guys because they have the skill to score off the dribble as well as score from outside. That means either Chucky or D'Andre will have to be that man unless we bring in someone else who fits that role I don't think Fondren will be that type of player, since he's not a great outside shooter. I don't now about this Bernard Thompson, but maybe he's that type of player. What made Solo dangerous was that he was strong enough to drive the lane and draw fouls, and could fake the drive and pull up and shoot the jumper. Chucky will need to put on around 20 pounds of muscle to accomplish that role.
Chucky can and has done that move, but he needs to just get a cooler head about him. I think once he does that, he'll be the superstar I've forecasted him to be.

As far as Bernard Thompson, I posted several links about him a while back. From what I read, he should be too good to play for us, but we're in on him.
I believe Chucky is still growing. I know he's taller than when I first met him when he was here on a recruiting visit. I'd say he's at least two or three inches taller. A lot of kids continue to grow until they're in their early twenties. And we know he'll get stronger. I just hope he stays with us for four years. I think of the really good player at ASU who left them for a larger program as did Patrick Sparks at Western. That's the danger with our program in bringing in good high school players. If they're too good too early, they might think they're too good for us. I have no reason to believe that will occur with Chucky, since he'll be the man here next year, so barring some unforseen situation, I think he'll be back.

I know Rod Barnes former Georgia State was going hard at him before he got fired. Word on the street is he wants to stay close to home, so I wouldn't be surprise if he plays for a Georgia school or out of state ACC school like Clemson or FSU.

I think all of you will enjoy White. IMHO, he will be a superstar for us by his junior year if he is committed to getting stronger and work on his game. I can see him getting at least 10 to 20 minutes late next season. He is 6'8" can shoot the three, can slash, and crash the boards. I think he will end up being better than WN over their careers. I guess I will become the official cheerleader of James White.
Definitely looking forward to seeing what James can do. I think he'll be a good one for us and feel he's probably rated pretty low by ESPN, based on who he was recruited by and what we've heard.
White was a steal for us. I'm glad we signed him early. Him not playing summer ball due to an injury was a blessing for us. I wish we could have signed Thompson in the early period. Maybe we will get lucky and get him.
Did he look like a legit 6-8?
