Congrats Broncos.04-bow
Very good news, especially considering the shortage of physicians in this country.
Wow!!!
It's the largest cash gift ever given to a university in the state of michigan, and the 15th largest ever given to any college or university in the united states. Amazing..... whoever this donor is has some deep pockets.
very nice, and to think the person just donated to do something good, not for the recognition. that's something that hardly happens anymore.
What impresses me the most (other than the enormous size of the gift) is that it was given for a truly educational and enriching experience. Not for an extra 10,000 seats to the football stadium or so that the basketball team can get a new scoreboard.

Agree.

It will also add a lot to the K'zoo economy, including faculty, staff and building of the required facilities.

That was part of my take away from this as well.

Kalamazoo locals speculate that this small tight knit group of anonymous philantropists includes the Stryker family and some of the Upjohns. Both families businesses are/were a major part of the medical industry. Kalamazoo has a number of very deep pockets and this group was most likely also the money behind the Kalamazoo Promise. I'm thankful that they give to worthy local projects and don't do it for the recognition.
Isn't Michigan State affiliated with one or two hospitals in Kalamazoo now?

That makes sense. Thanks for the link.
7th most donated.

whoever the donors for this I can assure you were the Kalamazoo Promise donors as well. trying to spur economic growth here in Kalamazoo. The amount of money they pull in annually is more than they can get rid of.
