Cuts down on the door to door soliciting. Ring the doorbell and hear that big hound bark, you really don't want to hang around long and try to sell me something I don't want.
Also the constant barking keeps the convo down and I just say no thanks, and they just give up.
Once had one of those "magazine" sellin' young adults keep on trying to get me to buy some mags. After telling him no numerous times, I just grabbed ole B Dub's collar and opened the door. Dude cut a trail like a tornado through a trailer park.
I could write a book on stories of people coming to my door. KoKo can let me know they are there before they even knock. Then he starts his barking....VERY LOUD deep ferocious barking. When I open the door (full-view glass storm door stays locked) and they see where that noise is coming from you should see their eyes. KoKo is very social but for some reason, not so at the house. It is HIS house and he enjoys letting everyone know this. It's like he is daring you to put your hand on that door knob and try to open the door. He knows my plant manager but decided he didn't want him coming into my house one morning a few weeks ago.....chased him out of the house....didn't know Ernie could run so fast...scared the crap out of him. Yes, big dogs are nice. I even warn everyone that comes into my yard and on all my doors into my house with a BEWARE OF DOG sign.
