Just a couple of things that bother me.

This was going to be an adventurous year with any coach. We need to realize that first of all. Next we need to give CMD support. I am a diehard UAB fan, particuarly in hoops, but I realize that this team is in a very fragile state right now. They read this just like we do, we don't need to start Coach bashing 21 games into his tenure at UAB. We need to rally around OUR players and OUR Coach. Like him or hate him he is OUR Coach. Our style is vastly different, but it is a winning style, give it time. I have been to several practices and I have seen first hand the passion CMD has for the game and more importantly the program. If you doubt that stop by a practice sit down and talk to him, he is very approachable. We can still accomplish every goal set forth for this year, it will just be harder at this point. The one thing we cannot do is give up on these players or this Staff.

I agree with you 100%. I honestly believe that his offense will work. We have numerous opportunities to shoot the 3 and most are uncontested. We need the shooters to step up..Mukubu, Gibbs and Kinnard. I do have to give some props to Davis Jr., at least he isn't afraid to shoot the ball.

I'm not a wait until next year type of fan.. but giving that we lost 7 seniors, changed the offense, I was hoping this year we would make the NIT.

Our defense is very good. If our offense could just click...
My biggest problems are not the losses, it's just how boring UAB games are to watch right now. UAB has never done a great job of making the game experience ( the stuff that happens apart from the game) fun for the fans in the stands, but this year they seem to have taken several big steps back. The team uses the worst intro music in college basketball. The band plays music that sucks the energy out of the crowd during timeouts. The concessions are bland and boring.
Towards the end of games they play music over the PA that gets the crowd into the game a little, where is that the rest of the game? Basically, there is not a lot going on at the game that adds to the entertainment value of being at the game. Pretty much the only thing that gets the crowd involved is the t-shirt canon. Keep that, drastically improve everything else.

When you add to the above mentioned problems that UAB basketball is just not very exciting to watch right now, and it makes it hard to get excited about going to the games.

Don't get me wrong, I still love UAB and support coach Davis. It's just that I get as much (or more) entertainment listening to the road games on the radio while chatting about the game in the blazertalk chat room, as I do going to the home games in person. If the goal of UAB is to attract new fans to the games and make them want to come back, we are failing at that goal.
Speaking of.... whatever happened to the Snoozys blimp thing? I always thought that was pretty well-received by people.

Amen and amen.

Having small children doubles the nightmare. With nothing much going on, it's just basketball, and that's fine for me, but the over/under on minutes between hearing "Daddy, I'm booooooooooooored." is 3.
