Memorable year, all in all.
Lot of good things. Just needed a few more quality players in key roles. Couldn't ask any more of our players. They gave it everything and won some great games. Just need to be more consistent. I believe if Gus had been able to play all year at the level to which he developed, we would have won a lot more games. I think our recruiting is being elevated to a slightly higher level each season. If we can keep on adding quality recruiting classes, our chances of moving up in the pecking order are substantially improved.
People always say Steve does the most with the least talent. What if he's starting to get the talent? Interesting possibilities...

It would be interesting. I said from the start of the year that Solo was our only "big time" player. However, I'd take another Alex any day of the week. By the end of the year, If felt DeAndre was one of the best point guards in the league. With Gus showing some real potential and Chuckie being the best looking freshman we had in awhile, if we could add a couple of pieces...
Absolutely. No question in my mind that D'Andre will be an even better point guard than Graber was, and that's high praise since Graber was probably our best in a long time. Chucky has star quality and he'll get stronger and more experienced. Gus has great potential to be a very solid big man for us. As you say, if our recruits can fill in the blanks, we could see a brighter future for the program than has been displayed the last few regular seasons.

That is indeed high praise. And you might be right. He has a chance.

He'll adjust of course. He will do the least with the most talent. He can just sit back and relax. It will all even out to a delightfully mediocre level of output.
