this is starting to make me a little sick. How many years have DUKE and UNC played the first two rounds right in their back yards. I wonder who'll be getting the calls in those games.

Both teams in Charolette. Yea like that's a coincidence.
After the whining I heard on the selection show about how Duke got stuck in the "west" only to see that the west is practically where their school is?
Good for Lavin when he used the word Aristocracy in describing how some conferences are treated by the committee.

i just read this on another post.
I said it before the selection show those 2 gonna get to play at the same place as their ACC tournament. What a freaking joke. Duke won't face a BE team until the Elite 8. Are you serious? Why did they have UCONN playing Cincy if we get past the 1st game? Why not put Cincy in the topper half of the west?

How is UCONN a #3 seed when UNC is a #2? How about FLA? What the hell have both done to deserve that over UCONN? I am not complaining because we get Duke as the #1 seed in that region. That being said, I think the BE is getting screwed with seedings.
Meanwhile Marq and possibly SYR may face Xavier in their home state of Ohio in the first two rounds.

They almost guarantee the ACC will advance. What is it Swofford making the seeding.

I hate to say it but what where they think'n putting Florida a 2 seed and Kentucky a 4 seed when UK beat them twice this year. Hell I feel we got screwed out of a 3 seed. If you go by the seeds Louisville went 6-2 with schools that are either a 1, 2 or 3 seed in the tournament.
No offense to Orangemen, but we should have Cuse #3 and they should have our #4 IMO. I think I'd rather have the 4 in our region than 3, and face Kansas over facing ND for a 3rd time.

Florida should be dropped to a 4, UK should be a 3

And yes the treatment Duke gets is unreal....with not seeing BE until Elite 8 and always in NC for 1st two rounds.

And of course, Xavier's AD is on the selection committee. Who would've thunk it? 03-lmfao
Guaranteed sellout.
The NCAA is all about the benjamins.
The NCAA basketball tourney provides 90+% of the NCAA's entire budget.
Some of you would complain if you were hung with a new rope. :muttering:

Cincinnati is about 250 mi. away from Cleveland. I'm guessing that Syracuse is either as close or closer to Cleveland than Xavier is. While Xavier has a very loyal 10k that sells out all their games they don't have a large fan base outside of that. I'd just about guarantee Syracuse bringing more people than Xavier if those two matchup but hopefully Marquette makes the argument moot.

EDIT: just mapquested it and realized that Syracuse is 330 mi. from Cleveland. Stand my my opinion that Syracuse will bring more than X if they play.

Id be complaining if I were going to be hung with any type of rope.
I'd rather just not be hung at all.

You're too young to get the reference.

We set an NCAA record for the most teams ever put into the NCAA's today and people are still whining about little things. That is the point of the quote. Don't sweat meaningless details and miss the larger issue. Maybe Duke and UNC did get better treatment than other schools did. We aren't playing them in NC so why do we care?

I wish I were too young to get the reference, but I get it. I was just having a little fun with you.
Seriously?! I hate Dook as much as anyone, but top seeds are *supposed* to get this type of reward. Sometimes it's a great reward in certain years (OSU in Cleveland, ND in Chicago), while it doesn't mean as much in other years. It's the luck of the draw of locations in any given season. The irony is that this complaining thread was started by a Syracuse fan, whose school got the greatest gift of any school where, as a 3-seed, gets to play the 2nd weekend playing virtual home games in Newark against the #1 overall seed! That's specifically *not* what's supposed to happen for anyone other than a 1-seed, so the last people that should be complaining about that are Syracuse partisans.

I don't mind being hung, and neither does my wife... Rimshot

But I'm with cuse about complaining if anyone tries to hang me with any kind of rope...
I wouldn't expect a massive contingent of XU alums. I know a couple in Cleveland but they aren't really jazzed up about the MBK team even in good times.

Was more surprised that SU was in the late session in CLE with the Buckeyes in the drivetime session. And that CLE got the condensed session on Friday with tips of approx. 2pm, 4:30pm, 7:15pm & 9:45pm. My concern is getting out of there after the OSU game, getting to the bar for a drink/bite to eat, then getting back for XU-Marquette. Suppose I could leave early from OSU, but have a feeling their fans will have the same plan.

Ding!

Do people think CBS et al are paying the NCAA Billions of $$$$$ to put on a tournament of teams that fans don't want to watch (in person or on TV)?

FYI...ACC Tournament was played in Greensboro, NC.

NCAA Tourn Games are being played in Charlotte, NC.

As others noted, UF being a #2 seed (in probably the weakest region) while SEC Tourn Champ UK is a #4 seed, seems a little odd.

Plus, UF gets to play their first game (or two) in Tampa (again).

Hail Frank!
You have finally learned how to spell the name of the school in Durham, NC.
