'Barney Miller' Officer Ron Carey Dead at 71
Sunday, January 21, 2007

LOS ANGELES
Wow, "Little Levitt" is a character I had not thought of in a long time.
Barney Miller was a fantasticly funny show and why can't you see it in reruns anymore. I loved Barney, Wojo, Harris, and Fish and the Inspector most of all. I also liked how all the crime and problems were solved by the end of a 30 minute episode.

For those of you who never saw it, Barney Miller was a lot like Newsradio in a police station.

I would love to see that show in regular syndication again.

I also loved the theme, which is now stuck in my head.
Don't forget Arthur Dietrich(sp?) "Where the hell did you get the atomic bomb?"

Classic.
No clue about what you old people are saying.

You young whippersnappers have no idea what you are missing.

Barney Miller is now on Nick at Night. I watch it regularly. It's still hilarious.

Rest in peace, Mr. Carey. Here's hoping you got that promotion.

What time and day?
Remember the episode with the marijuana brownies? Jack Soo as Nick Yemana, omg... that was a classic show.
One of my favorites was the show featuring a courtesan named Marsha. Barney kept getting phone calls from important people trying to help her cause. She had lots of important friends who went to bat for her.
I remember "The Inspector" as the nosy neighbor in "My Favorite Martian". He appeared in many character roles on many TV shows.
He was also the voice behind those sarcastic Mitsubishi radio commercials over the last several years.

04-bow One of my favorite television episodes! Hash brownies made by Wojo's new girlfriend! lmfao

"When I'm calling youuuuuuuu-u-uu-u!"

Barney: "How many of these things have you had?!?"

Nick: "Mooshie, mooshie."

Nick: "I can hear your eyelids close. They go 'squish, squish'."

What time and day?

I've been watching it on the weekends, late at night, typically after Saturday Night Live ends on NBC. I'm a night owl, so I'm up late.

Now that I think about it, I'm not certain I'm watching it on TV Land. I may be watching on one of my local stations, which air a lot of classic TV after 10 p.m. I can't keep track of all the channels.
The first season of Barney Miller is available on DVD too.
